We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Priscilla Rojas a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Priscilla, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
Priscilla has produced or directed more than 80 audiovisual projects including TV shows, short films, feature films, documentaries, social media content, web-series, and music videos during 2014-2023. Won Two Suncoast Emmy Awards, one for Best Cinematography for “La Tumba” inspired by true events short film and another one for Best Talent for “Super Poderoso” short film. All of these projects have been important for her because they have left her lessons and experiences.
She’s worked on several award-winning projects in the film and television industry, including Telemundo’s **Copa Mundial de la FIFA Qatar 2022**, which won a National Emmy Award for Outstanding Studio Show.
During the FIFA World Cup, Priscilla has to watch all the soccer matches and choose the highlights that will later be broadcast on the daily TV shows. Also, she is proud of how the sports landscape is evolving with this Women’s World Cup, which not only portrays female sport leaders but also reported a massive increase in viewership compared to previous World Cups. An example of this was the U.S.-Vietnam soccer game, making it the most-watched Spanish-language WWC group stage match yet in the United States with 1 million viewers across Telemundo and Peacock.
The possibilities are endless as long as you don’t limit yourself, she mentions. The most significant project I have worked on is about myself, my education, and always striving for new experiences and goals.
Priscilla, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Priscilla Rojas is a filmmaker with 15 years of experience in media. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Media Communications and earned her Master of Fine Arts Degree in Film Production at Full Sail University.
After graduating, Priscilla moved to Miami with her partner and sister, Linda, and began pitching shows to local television networks, eventually landing a deal for their live Spanish-language talk show, “La Hora del Brunch” and “Destino en la Mira.” The first TV Show, was a magazine show and the second one, was about tourism and gastronomy in the State of Florida. Also, they started making documentaries and short films, one of her passions.
She wrote a book with her sister about TV and Film Production entitled “La Anatomía de un Productor” available on Amazon (Spanish Version).
Among the productions they have carried out with their production company Alpha Entertainment Services are documentaries and short films based on real events or stories of a social nature such as their documentary Not so sex abled available on Amazon Prime about a man with 70% disability in his body and who talks to us about their performance in privacy.
Soon Priscilla and Linda are going to launch an audiovisual production masterclass, where they tell their beginnings, experiences and educate about everything you need to know in a production. Both are founders of Alpha Entertainment Services, which is an award-winning full service entertainment company with offices in Miami. They develop corporate videos, social media content, commercials, films, music productions, graphic designs, and animations. Additionally, they offer corporate image counseling and event productions.
Her team is made up mostly of professional women in the film or media area, demonstrating that not only the Latin culture that arrives in the United States is prepared, but also that makes national and international recognitions. She has worked for TV networks such as as Telemundo, VME TV, Univisión, Food Network, Discovery Channel, as well as brands like Pepsi, Mc Cormick, L’Oréal, Ford, Publix, Pollo Tropical, Papa Johns, Popeyes, among others.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Priscilla believes that the most rewarding thing about being creative is that you never stop creating new stories or experiences. There is always a story to tell and many ways to bring it to the target audience. That’s the magic of filmmaking, bringing ideas to reality.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Priscilla came to the United States on 2014 with the dream of studying film. Since then, this country has offered a range of possibilities and opportunities that she never imagined such as film and tv experiences and national awards:

Priscilla’s journey is marked by unwavering perseverance. Whenever one door closed, she tenaciously sought another path, refusing to succumb to setbacks. Her unyielding determination propelled her to accomplish every goal she set her sights on. Presently, she is passionately engaged in two significant projects. One of them is “Me Pasa” a Journals Podcast, delving into the intricacies of life’s occurrences and missed opportunities. Additionally, she is meticulously crafting a Production Masterclass, poised to empower aspiring students and filmmakers in the near future.
