We recently connected with Priscilla Presley and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Priscilla thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
In my opinion, Success comes in many different forms but after working with over 200 successful entrepreneurs I have realized that no matter what someone’s version of success looks like, there are a few key characteristics that I’ve consistently witnessed and aim to emulate in my own business.
Having a clear vision of what success is may seem simple, but this is actually what I find most businesses and entrepreneurs are lacking. Beyond that, it is essential to be able to set goals and milestones that are achievable to help you reach the vision that you seek. Without this, I often find business owners and entrepreneurs start spending too much time in “the doing” and find themselves exhausted and overwhelmed with too many opinions and decisions that they feel paralyzed by, so instead they give up before achieving success.
Second, roll up those sleeves, and don’t be afraid to hustle. Persistence pays off big time—I’ve seen it firsthand.
In today’s whirlwind world, staying flexible and always learning are key. Things change fast, so being open to new ideas and tweaking your game plan is smart. Also, don’t underestimate the power of emotional smarts—knowing how to handle people and yourself goes a long way.
Lastly, build up a solid crew and collaborate whenever you can. Whether it’s bouncing ideas off friends or finding a mentor, connections are gold. Remember, success isn’t just about hitting milestones; it’s about enjoying the journey and growing along the way.

Priscilla, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am on a mission to help a million women start and grow successful businesses by the time I am 35. I believe that there is power in numbers and the more resources and community support that women have to achieve a goal, the more success is seen. Through self-discovery in my early 20’s, I realized my true purpose was to help women achieve their own success. Since then, I have built a thriving community and business that elevates women-owned businesses around the world. I have assembled a team that shares the same vision and consulted with companies like Microsoft, Honeybook, and the SBA to help them understand how they can support aspiring business owners as well. In less than five years, my company, The Forward Female, has become a key player in the community, providing 1:1 business development and marketing coaching, brand strategy, website design/development, marketing implementation, and free educational resources to help entrepreneurs achieve real success and expand their network. authentic community.
Over the past three years, I have had the privilege of personally coaching over 200 women to start and scale their businesses from around the world, while simultaneously rising from co-founder to CEO of The Forward Female. Under my leadership, The Forward Female team has seen incredible growth, expanding from three founding members to eight talented women and achieving an impressive 80% year-over-year revenue increase since our first year in business and through a national pandemic. Our success is due in part to the launch of our 1:1 coaching programs, creative agency services, and innovative multi-tiered membership model. Through my strategic oversight, The Forward Female reaches 10,000+ women monthly within our community and is on pace to grow our reach by 20% month over month and achieve our goal of impacting 1 million women within the next 4 years. In addition to this incredible growth, I have been a guest on several notable podcasts, such as Better Together with Maria Menounos, Marrin Costello Radio, and Pitchin’ and Sippin’, and featured in credible outlets such as Goop and Hello Alice.
In addition to my work as CEO of the Forward Female, I also joined the team at The LA Girl (The Number #1 Personal Lifestyle Publication in LA) as the COO to help them see massive success in the last year alone. With my oversight, The LA Girl has tripled its readership, secured multi-figure brand deals, and built a team that covers all events, happenings, and things to do in Los Angeles and beyond.
This growth is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the teams I am skilled in building and their commitment to success and as a female entrepreneur myself, it has been an absolute privilege to lead and make an impact on others around the world too.

Have you ever had to pivot?
One of the most transformative moments in my journey was successfully pivoting our business from an in-person model to a fully digital one. This shift had to happen when the pandemic hit. Overnight, we had to figure out how we could transition our members from their in-person memberships to a digital platform and still provide them with the support and resources they needed, especially when everything was so uncertain. This change forced us to completely redefine our business concept. It was the best thing we could have done because not only were we able to give our current members support, but we were able to expand our reach beyond Los Angeles and start helping business owners on a global scale. Since then, we’ve shifted into a hybrid model where we still have our digital community and services, but now we can meet and collaborate with them regularly in person as well.
The biggest takeaway from that entire experience is to be prepared to pivot. It’s so crucial to know that the world and your circumstances are going to evolve and you have to be ready to evolve with it or you could get left behind.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
Born and raised in Texas with aspirations of working in entertainment news in Los Angeles, my dreams came true when I secured an internship at Warner Brothers after college. Later, I transitioned to a brand partnership role at Bumble, where I had the opportunity to meet incredible people while hosting events in Los Angeles. One of them was Lauren Cheek, who became my co-founder of Forward Female. We met through a mutual friend at my very first brunch event with Bumble. Lauren, who had a creative agency, became my go-to photographer for monthly Bumble events. As we became close friends, I asked her to redesign my personal website.
Our collaboration on the website opened up a bigger conversation about what women truly want and need. We noticed that many women around us were held back by limitations, lack of resources, and fear of breaking out of societal norms. This led us to envision a business-focused community that could support women as they pursued their dreams. Recognizing that we needed guidance and support, we sought the expertise of NJ Falk, Lauren’s former mentor. NJ had an impressive background in creative and entrepreneurial ventures, including working for renowned brands and founding an award-winning agency and blog. With NJ’s guidance, we gained insights into cash flow, building a stable business, and establishing a strong foundation for growth.
Since establishing our business partnership and expanding our team, we have prioritized open-mindedness and curiosity to fuel our growth. Today, Forward Female has become a transformative, safe space for female entrepreneurs to build their businesses and foster authentic communities. We organize monthly events to facilitate networking and provide valuable resources for business development. Our community offers accountability and encourages discussions on various business and mindset topics. Weekly meetings empower individuals to reach new heights and stay on track with their goals.
In addition to our creative agency, we offer services for business development, website design, branding, and marketing. Our consulting services guide the entrepreneurial journey, with a focus on business development and marketing. We are also excited to announce that as of June 2023, we have launched the Her Next Big Move podcast, where we share tips, tricks, and conversations with inspiring women in the industry.
We are committed to evolving and helping more women realize their dreams. The future holds exciting possibilities for our next big move!
