Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Priscilla Presley. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Priscilla , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Owning a business isn’t always glamorous and so most business owners we’ve connected with have shared that on tough days they sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have just had a regular job instead of all the responsibility of running a business. Have you ever felt that way?
I couldn’t imagine a life that doesn’t involve being a business owner and pursuing my passion every single day. It’s the most fulfilling job I’ve ever had, and why I am so passionate about helping others do the same. The journey of building a business has taught me so many lessons, and the actual experience of living my dream has been so special. Seeing my vision come to life, time and time again, and proving to myself that I am capable is indescribable and helped me never want to go back to working a “regular jobs” ever again.
What I have realized after working both “regular jobs” and working for myself is that no matter what you do in life, everything is a risk. It’s a risk to be a business owner, and it’s a risk not to be a business owner. But what you have to do in life is ask yourself what risk are you willing to take and let that help you as you are guided in your life’s direction.
As a female CEO, I know that underrepresentation and lack of education and resources are some of the primary reasons that hold women back from becoming business owners and leaders in the first place, so I aim to change that. There are too many people held back by the fear of failure that don’t give themselves the opportunity to succeed. The biggest advice that I can give from what I have learned is to not fear failure, but strive for it. Never be satisfied, and always strive to challenge yourself to be a better version of yourself – whatever that means for you.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am currently the Co-Founder, CEO, and Executive Business Development Coach at The Forward Female. When ambitious entrepreneurs think of launching a business, they think Forward Female. We are a coaching and creative agency and global female entrepreneurial network providing both emerging entrepreneurs and established brands with everything they need to succeed. We provide guidance and strategy through our business development and marketing coaching programs, the design and implementation within the creative agency, and the essential network you need to grow through our memberships and events.
We understand how difficult it is to wear all of the hats and feel like you have to know everything about business before even getting your business off the ground, which is why we decided to build a space that made it a little easier. We noticed that there was nothing that was really providing the guidance on how to actually create a business, provide you with everything you needed to get it started, and connect you with a community to support and accountability you needed along the way – so we built it.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
One of the most transformative moments in my journey was successfully pivoting our business from an in-person model to a fully digital one. This shift had to happen when the pandemic hit. Overnight, we had to figure out how we could transition our members from their in-person memberships to a digital platform and still provide them with the support and resources they needed, especially when everything was so uncertain. This change forced us to completely redefine our business concept. It was the best thing we could have done because not only were we able to give our current members support, but we were able to expand our reach beyond Los Angeles and start helping business owners on a global scale. Since then, we’ve shifted into a hybrid model where we still have our digital community and services, but now we are able to meet and collaborate with them regularly in person as well.
The biggest takeaway from that entire experience is to be prepared to pivot. It’s so crucial to know that the world and your circumstances are going to evolve, and you have to be ready to evolve with it, or you could get left behind.
We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
Born and raised in Texas with aspirations of working in entertainment news in Los Angeles, my dreams came true when I secured an internship at Warner Brothers after college. Later, I transitioned to a brand partnership role at Bumble, where I had the opportunity to meet incredible people while hosting events in Los Angeles. One of them was Lauren Cheek, who became my co-founder of Forward Female. We met through a mutual friend at my very first brunch event with Bumble. Lauren, who had a creative agency, became my go-to photographer for monthly Bumble events. As we became close friends, I asked her to redesign my personal website.
Our collaboration on the website opened up a bigger conversation about what women truly want and need. We noticed that many women around us were held back by limitations, lack of resources, and fear of breaking out of societal norms. This led us to envision a business-focused community that could support women as they pursued their dreams. Recognizing that we needed guidance and support, we sought the expertise of NJ Falk, Lauren’s former mentor. NJ had an impressive background in creative and entrepreneurial ventures, including working for renowned brands and founding an award-winning agency and blog. With NJ’s guidance, we gained insights into cash flow, building a stable business, and establishing a strong foundation for growth.
Since establishing our business partnership and expanding our team, we have prioritized open-mindedness and curiosity to fuel our growth. Today, Forward Female has become a transformative, safe space for female entrepreneurs to build their businesses and foster authentic communities. We organize monthly events to facilitate networking and provide valuable resources for business development. Our community offers accountability and encourages discussions on various business and mindset topics. Weekly meetings empower individuals to reach new heights and stay on track with their goals.
In addition to our creative agency, we offer services for business development, website design, branding, and marketing. Our coaching programs provide guidance throughout the entrepreneurial journey, with a focus on business development and marketing. We are also excited to announce that as of June 2023, we have launched the Her Next Big Move podcast, where we share tips, tricks, and conversations with inspiring women in the industry.
We are committed to evolving and helping more women realize their dreams. The future holds exciting possibilities for our next big move!
