Priscila, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?

I’ve always been involved in the entertainment industry. Back in 1997, I was working as a first soprano, performing at weddings. One day, a bride approached me and asked if I could do her bridal production because she admired the way I presented myself. At the time, I had no equipment or formal training, but I accepted the challenge. After her wedding, I was referred to three more brides—and they all loved how she looked.

That experience marked the beginning of my journey. I eventually paused my singing career to pursue the necessary licenses and began working full-time in bridal production.

Hi, I’m Priscila Stolochi, founder of Stolochi Makeup & Hair—a beauty brand focused on elegant, personalized bridal production. My journey began unexpectedly in 1997, while working as a first soprano performing at weddings. One of the brides asked if I could do her makeup and hair because she loved how I presented myself. I had no equipment or formal training at the time, but I said yes. That one experience led to three more weddings—and a calling I couldn’t ignore.

Eventually, I stepped away from music to pursue beauty full-time, earning my licenses and building my business with heart and intention. Today, I offer on-site bridal makeup and hairstyling, creating timeless looks that enhance each client’s natural features and honor their unique style.

What sets Stolochi Makeup & Hair apart is the emotional connection I build with every client. I don’t just show up to glam—I show up to support, calm nerves, and help people feel like the best version of themselves. I’m most proud of the trust my clients place in me, and that so many come back for other milestones in their lives.

Have you ever had to pivot?

In 2013, I made the life-changing decision to pause Stolochi Makeup & Hair in Brazil and start over in the United States. It wasn’t just a new location—it was a completely different audience, culture, and beauty standard. I had to rebuild everything from the ground up: earn my U.S. licenses, learn the market, understand the preferences of a new clientele, and re-establish my brand in a place where no one knew me yet.

It was incredibly challenging, but also deeply rewarding. The experience pushed me to grow—not only as a professional but as a person. I took every opportunity to learn, adapt, and connect with clients on a personal level. Slowly, through word-of-mouth, dedication, and a lot of heart, I began to rebuild Stolochi Makeup & Hair here in the U.S.

Today, I’m proud to serve a beautifully diverse community of brides and clients, bringing a blend of Brazilian warmth and American polish to every look I create. Starting over wasn’t easy—but it gave me a fresh perspective and a renewed sense of purpose in the work I love.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

Most of my clients come through word of mouth and personal referrals, which to me is the highest compliment. People often say they were referred by someone who felt truly cared for—not just made up. I believe that’s because I put as much focus on the experience as I do on the final look.

Clients consistently mention how much they appreciate the way I listen, support them through the process, and deliver results that exceed expectations. It’s more than makeup and hair—it’s about trust, connection, and creating a moment they’ll remember. That dedication to customer service and excellence is what keeps the referrals coming, and it’s something I’m incredibly proud of.
