We recently connected with Priscila Nascimento and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Priscila thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. One of the most important things small businesses can do, in our view, is to serve underserved communities that are ignored by giant corporations who often are just creating mass-market, one-size-fits-all solutions. Talk to us about how you serve an underserved community.
I believe the simplest way to answer this question will be anecdotally. Recently, I had a customer, we will call her “Anna”, and she was very frustrated before booking our services. She told us that she was tired of mundane, cookie-cutter events and wanted to experience something unique and personal for once. She told us about how previous events bled together because they all seemed to be the same with charcuterie boards, mimosas, and generic decor. In contrast, we provided her with a specific theme and custom-made food tailored to her request. The theme was medieval and the food was a menu inspired by a European trip that the customer had taken. She and her guests were extremely delighted with our work and we were pleased to learn almost immediately how our work stood out from prior events she had hosted. This story illuminates a niche market in the event industry that is currently wanting for individuality. We are simply trying to make our customers’ voices heard through our combined creative collaboration and open approach to working with our customers. We strive to help people like Anna break free from the mundane events they have grown tired of.

Priscila , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
We decided to start our business after personally experiencing several disappointing and frustrating events. My wedding day was catastrophic due to poor event coordination and this inspired me to help others not suffer the same fate. Many of my friends also had difficulties with their bridal showers, birthday parties, and picnics, etc. These experiences fueled my curiosity for the event planning infrastructure. We differ from other event planners by offering custom plans and diverse menus. We bring customer fantasies, other cultures, and innovative designs to the forefront of our work. I’m most proud of our team! Every staff member is completely dedicated to our cause; they are hardworking and excellent collaborators. Our customers should know that no matter the budget we’re working with, we will always work to make each event special. Evvai is for creating fond and lasting memories.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Our best sources have been and remain word of mouth from our growing numbers of satisfied customers and our strong social media presence. When we started this business at the start of the year, we would receive at most 2 inquiries per week and we are now over 12. As we continue to service more customers, the interest in our services grows. Many people are looking for private parties that stand out and that they can call their own.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
We understand the importance of maintaining contact and a relationship with all of our customers. Part of our social media presence is used to maintain a line of communication by staying active, following, and commenting on other’s stories. While we are constantly striving for growth, we know that we are not growing alone and everyone that we work with, both employees and customers, has played a part in our growth so we pay that forward. While we may not turn our friends into customers, we can easily say that many of our customers become our friends.
