We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Princess Veasley. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Princess below.
Alright, Princess thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
Business With Princess started as a Vision or, some may say, an idea. I was completing my internship with My Daily Bread Meal Prep and found myself bringing structure to the backends of the business. My best friend, who owns the company, suggested that I start doing this for entrepreneurs because I was able to come in and help make the process more streamlined. After receiving her recommendation, I ended up listening to a podcast that just so happened to interview a young lady who shared how she started helping entrepreneurs with their backends. I was blown away because I felt this wasn’t a coincidence and was a sign of moving forward with the idea I had been praying about. So, I took it back to God and asked Him how to proceed because I had no idea how to get started.
In 2020, I was laid off from my job but happened to have a business meeting with a potential client the next day. I went to the meeting not even sure what I was offering but knew that I could help; after that meeting, I felt so inspired and confident that God called me to business. Fast forward, I started building my website, and as I began creating, I became a little clearer on what I should offer. I did some market research and applied to work with an agency for Virtual Assistance to help me get my feet wet and gain clientele. I didn’t get the job, but I took note of their process, and what they offered for the industry I was in. From here, I began to create free resources and packages based on my knowledge from my professional work experience.
Princess, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Business With Princess, LLC is a faith-based business whose mission is to improve Coaches & Visionaries quality of life by bringing structure to the back ends of their business, implementing streamlined systems, and bringing an effective plan to execute the vision. I am excited and proud to see how much this business has grown and the number of entrepreneurs we have been able to serve thus far.Today I serve many entrepreneurs through the channels of workshops, virtual business support, system setups & visionary sessions.
Being a Coach or Visionary can be overwhelming with the effort one must put in when it comes to administrative duties or even setting up the proper systems to launch the next big thing. Because of this I not only bring a plan to execute the vision but I also I assist with doing the work to bring it to life.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
My #1 source for receiving clientele is “Word of Mouth.” Referrals will always be the most powerful way to gain new business.
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
As your business grows, so should your team. You must first become a great leader to manage a good team and keep them. It’s nothing worse than having to hire for the same position over and over year after year. My best advice for managing a team without turnover would be this;
1. Be transparent, open, & honest.
There’s nothing worse than being left in the dark about where one stands with your company. People want to feel included and safe to grow with you as your business expands.
2. Let go of control.
When you hire someone to do specific duties, you have to learn to let them do their job without feeling the need to control how they get it done. Have SOPs in place, yes, but no one likes to work with micro-managers or those who cretic everything. Give your team some freedom to be creative within the parameters of the business.
3. Support them.
Please give them a safe space to come to you with questions, receive feedback, and ensure they have everything they need to complete the job.
4. Celebrate them.
Talk about your team! Share how wonderful they are, and show your appreciation for all the work they put in for your business. This could look like leaving them a review, sharing them on your social media outlets, taking them out for lunch, buying them a gift, or giving them a raise or bonus. Be creative in this; a little love goes a long way.
5. Pour into them.
If you see that they aren’t meeting your expectations in areas, they may not specialize in or could use growth in, invest in training, programs, etc., to help them grow. This is better than firing them to find someone else; if they are open to learning, allow them to grow with you. No one wants to feel replaceable.
