We were lucky to catch up with Princess Haynes recently and have shared our conversation below.

Princess, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Almost all entrepreneurs have had to decide whether to start now or later? There are always pros and cons for waiting and so we’d love to hear what you think about your decision in retrospect. If you could go back in time, would you have started your business sooner, later or at the exact time you started?

I feel like everything happens when it is supposed to happen so I don’t think about what would be different had I thought to go after my dreams sooner. I am in the business of being me and for a long time I felt I had to be always in the house for my children but they are older now so it is my time. That is how I look at it and yes I got to go harder because I waited so long but I know my brand and business will grow the way it is supposed to in time. There is nothing I will change because life and my experiences helped me to grow into the woman that I am today. The ups and downs made me strong and helped me to grow courage to keep going because I never wanted to go backwards but I also know that with God it is all about timing as well. I feel everything in my life is coming together at this time as it should and I couldn’t be happier about it.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

My business is me and I love to say that because I truly get paid to be me. This is something that I always wanted as I always worked corporate jobs having to do and be who they wanted me to be waking up depressed every day. Because I was having to bite my tongue and just take stuff for the sake of being able to pay my bills but one day I woke up and said enough and enough. On that day I said it is time to put me and my happiness first which I had already been working towards outside of my full time job working in radio and doing different things such as my own shows and interviews. Then once I realized I could really grow with 2HotRadio if I put my all in instead of one foot I put in my notice at my job and have been getting paid to be Princess With The Real every since not having to go on anyone else clock.

I am proud to say I took a chance on me when everyone around me told me I was stupid and being foolish thinking 2HotRadio could be my only income coming in. At first I was scared but I had to take a leap of faith on me and it was so worth it because I now way up smiling every morning and don’t have to worry about people taking credit for my work being me I am my work. Not only that I am finally with a company that understand me and accepts all of me for who I am and again pays me to be ME!!

I want people to know that they can do whatever they put their minds to and if they want it they should go after it. As I am a walking example and my entire platform is to inspire and motivate others to continue to go after what they want in life no matter what it is as that is what I will be doing.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.

So my brand is Princess With The Real and I met one of the Executives at 2HotRadio one day went we were at TST Network which is the station I had producing my show From The Bottom To The Top. We were there for a party but my set was still up during that time and I remember Don P coming to the party with a family member but me trying to connect with his platform. I got his number which was his business number not that direct line lol but after leaving a message he connected me with DJ Outlet who gave me my shot on radio having my own show. From there I began building a relationship with the entire team and growing in the business where I am now as the Operations Manager. Outside of that I am me getting to show my personality on radio, at events, on auditions, and in everything that we do. The more we communicate the more we grow and I would say it is the first time that I have joined that everyone is theirselves not trying to make others look bad but everyone doing their part to help the business to grow and grow their brands at the same time. I was always calling them my managers then one day one of them said stop saying that you are a Partner in the business and yes I felt I was but hearing him say that reminded me why working with them is special to me. The sky is the limits because they don’t hold me back they understand the person I am and my value which is so important to me.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

Me being me and being real someone that people can relate to and feel comfortable opening up to. I believe me shows my life and who I am on social media helps people to trust me because not only is my name Princess With The Real they can also feel that in my spirit and when I speak as well.

Along with my personality I make sure I go out and network being friendly with others as I know the more I network the more I grow my network. I am from nothing so telling my story helps people to understand I mean business and because my business is to inspire and motivate others that makes others want to do business with me.

I make it clear I am not trying to keep up with anyone but that I am trying to be better than I was the day before and want others to do the same as well. Also I believe everyone needs somebody so I am that somebody for many which makes them want to tell others about me helping to grow my fanbase and brand.
