We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Prince Nasir A. Bey. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Prince Nasir A. below.
Prince Nasir A. , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
My mission as a philosopher is to awaken the thinking mind of humanity. The majority of humanity is programed to follow and not think for themselves in any way of independent thought, I want to enlighten the world with a new but old train of thinking. A way in which the mind can become aware of itself and the world that surrounds the being within the body and not just the body itself.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I began my journey as philosopher at a very young age but discovered as an adult that philosophy has always been my true purpose. I began writing poetry at the age of nine and published my first poem when I was just 12 years old. My 6th grade school teacher gave us a writing assignment to do as a final grade in class so I decided to turn in an original poem for the assignment. She ended up really liking the poem and submitted it into a contest and I won first place. The prize was a publication of the work into a major magazine publication. This was my first realization of my true talent as a poet and writer.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
My greatest lesson that I had to unlearn was depending on others for support. When I started my publishing business as writer I had to believe in myself and know that I was fully capable of not only writing my books myself but also publishing them myself as well.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
One of the first things I had to do to fund my business was repair my credit. I did this by first researching and gaining a clear understanding of how credit works. Once I had this understanding I began to work on repairing my credit so that a lending institution would feel comfortable enough to lend me the capital to jump start my business.
