We were lucky to catch up with Primal USA recently and have shared our conversation below.
Primal, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I knew from the moment I picked up an instrument for the first time. Been playing music and exploring music theory since I was five years old.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Zach Statom. And I produce Electronic Dance Music under the alias Primal (USA). I make sub-genres of EDM such as Dubstep, Wave, Drum and Bass, Riddim, Hyrbid Trap, and more. EDM is an umbrella term for nearly hundreds of sub-genres.

We’d love to hear your thoughts on NFTs. (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
I think of them as interesting, but don’t plan to invest. Things like crypto and NFT’s make my anxiety peak. haha

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I want people to hear my tunes when they need to hear them, and want to show them to others when they feel like they will help them. Yes, I make darker music most of the time, but sometimes you need an outlet to vent or disperse anger, or maybe even you just like the adrenaline or dopamine rush from heavy music; this is what drives me! You never know what someone is going through. SHOW LOVE
