Hi Premi, thanks for joining us today. We believe kindness is contagious and so we’d love for you to share with us and our audience about the kindest thing anyone has ever done for you?

I would say it is the first ever feedback I received from an unhappy customer. Made me reflect deeper on my business, explore further learning and level up. I am very thankful for that. Even though it hurt on the day I got it, it is the most kindest thing anyone had ever done to my business and me. Ignited that fire

Premi, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Oviyam is an emotion to me. This art form helps me express, emote and enable being part of happy life treasures.

Growing up, Whenever I was happy, excited, sad, nervous or frustrated, my mom handed me a box of crayons and a white sheet of paper and said, “Show me how you feel!, put colors on your feelings and tell me a story through your art” she said.

That right there felt empowering! I felt the freedom to use my imagination and show my emotions. I sometimes spent hours and sometimes minutes but definitely came out with clarity on why i feel what I feel. Those are the arts i cherish and she still have them treasured.

When I became a parent, a day with my camera gave me the same feeling. I started capturing my emotions of motherhood through photography. I was a clicking mom who documented every single sweet memories of my little human. Not once but twice and rejoiced them when i needed to get back to my why.

I wanted to pass this joy on, be part of ever lasting memories of families , play my part in the smile that you see in the eye and heart when you look at a picture 30 years from today.

Thus the birth of Oviyam (meaning painting). Spreading the joy of treasured memories through the lens of Oviyam since 2017.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

Customer first attitude. No compromise on quality.
Making photoshoots experience unique and a fun family time.

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.

Oviyam is still my side hustle but has been as successful as a main stream business.

1. It started as a creative outlet for my analytical main stream work as an engineering leader.

2. The feedback and love I received from a mother I worked with when they first saw their little bundles pictures and sent me an emotional message. That was my turning point that made it my calling.

3. My growing Oviyam client who have become more of a family keeps me fueled year after year.
