We recently connected with Precious Williams and have shared our conversation below.
Precious, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
I have a life full of taking risks. I risked everything to start my first business, Curvy Girlz Lingerie in 2011. I was an attorney at the time and fell in love with a man who made me look at my then 327-pound body so differently. I wanted all women with a little bit more meat on their bones to celebrate themselves as much as I wanted my company to do. So, I left my legal career behind to go all in. With -$400 in my bank account, I took a chance and pitched to the producers of MSNBC and a major event (that I could not afford) and that pitch landed me on national television where, in 54 seconds I walked away with a multi hundred thousand dollar investment. The rest was history. I went on to pitch on Shark Tank, become a 13-time national pitch champion, founder and CEO of Perfect Pitches by Precious and now an international professional speaker, corporate trainer and 4X #1 bestselling author!
My next risk came after I lost that same love of my life. I went into major grief and depression and lost everything. I became homeless, a severe alcoholic and suicidal. After 2 years in a life transformation program, I stepped back into business with clearer eyes, vision and mission. People told me to give up and let my dreams go! Never! I started speaking at events for free, then got booked at Google, LinkedIn, Microsoft and then it was on! I pitched my business back to life despite the naysayers. I took a risk on myself and did not have a job to sustain me so I went hard. I built my business better than before! Here I stand less than 4 years out of homelessness. Been clean an sober over 5 years!
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Meet the #KillerPitchMaster – Precious L. Williams
To understand me is to understand my experience. I once weighed 327 pounds and somehow used my moxie, grit and determination to talk my way into funding for a company that didn’t even exist — Curvy Girlz Lingerie. I made this company a reality and my ability to think on my feet, boldly break the rules and tell a story has since made me the #KillerPitchMaster. Some also refer to me as the female McGuyver of business!
Not only am I a 13-time elevator pitch champion, I have successfully appeared on “Shark Tank,” CNN, Wall Street Journal, Forbes and Black Enterprise Magazine. I have since watched my clients gain national and international media attention, secure corporate training contracts and launch their next beautiful NOW!
Dropping Names
Besides helping women entrepreneurs and business leaders, I also conduct corporate trainings, helping teams to create killer communication skills, craft messaging and understand how to pitch and build sales programs. I’m also a world-class speaker for global brands including: Harvard University, Google, LinkedIn, Microsoft, George Washington University, Intuit Quickbooks, NBC Universal, PwC, Yelp, and more. Never one to forget my roots, I give back by working with organizations like Bottomless Closet, the Bowery Mission Women’s Center, DreamWakers, Savvy Ladies, and Dress for Success.
Ain’t Nothing But Some Accolades
I am featured in a Mastercard “Priceless” commercial, am a 4-time Book of the Year Finalist, a Stevie Awards “Maverick of the Year” Silver Medalist, a 2021 Leadership in Action Awardee for Career Mastered and an ICABA 2021 Women of Impact Awardee.
As if that wasn’t enough, I’m also a 3-time #1 bestselling author for my books, Bad Bitches and Power Pitches: For Women Entrepreneurs and Speakers Only, and The Bad Bitches and Power Pitches Workbook, with my third, Pitching for Profit: The Bad Bitches’ Playbook to Convert Conversations into Currency, available now!
I have also appeared in Forbes Magazine, CNN, Wall Street Journal, and on 2 billboards in Times Square (pinch me!). But I’m truly nothing without the amazing women and businesses I help. Ya’ll inspire me on the daily.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
LinkedIn, hands down, has been the best source for securing new clients.
Why? As the #KillerPitchMaster, I have a unique talent, the ability to pitch anything, anywhere at any time. I demonstrated on LinkedIn why I am the best in the world at what I do through my LinkedIn Live Show, “Keeping It Real with the #KillerPitchMaster” every Sunday. My article, Precious, Fix My Pitch is viewed between 40k-60k times every time I post.
I pull back the curtain on my prestigious speaking engagements, my client’s successes and the #truetea on pitching.
Posting multiple times a day starting with quotes to posts that show my talent, skill set and ability makes it easy to choose me as a trainer, speaker, or on-air talent.
LinkedIn attracts real business men and women as well as companies, corporations, non-profits and foundations as prospects and shows them why I am the only choice that matters!
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Testimonials. Testimonials. Testimonials helped me build my reputation online as well as offline. I have over 200 on LinkedIn alone. Couple that with teaching my clients how to pitch me to other groups, companies and entrepreneurs, I have a track record that stands alone!
