Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Pravin Betala. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Pravin, thanks for joining us today. Do you wish you had started you own firm sooner?
Absolutely, I would have started sooner. Coaching has been truly transformational for me. The things I once imagined doing 10–15 years down the road, I’m doing today. Back then, I didn’t yet have the courage or maturity to begin—but with a gentle nudge from a coach, I took the leap. I realized the power had always been within me; it just needed to be brought to light.
I genuinely believe everyone has that same power, capability, and capacity within them—it often just takes a nudge and a bit of courage to take the first step. If I had started my practice earlier, I could have helped even more clients by now.
That said, I also believe everything happens at the right time. So while I wish I’d begun earlier, I’m grateful I started when I did—better now than never.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
As a Transition Coach, I see myself as a Sherpa—here to help, support, and gently nudge individuals all the way to the top on their journey to realize their dreams and achieve meaningful outcomes.
With a unique blend of experience in engineering, leadership, and coaching, I’ve built a career centered around transformation—both at the organizational and individual levels.
As an entrepreneur and coach, I help professionals navigate transitions through small but powerful pivots in mindset, lifestyle, and workstyle—leading to truly transformational results. My coaching approach is highly personalized and may include resume optimization, interview preparation, multi-week “Sherpa-style” coaching, and helping clients understand the chemistry of change.
To date, I’ve had the privilege of supporting more than 20 professionals through significant career transitions—from college graduates seeking their first role, to mid-career professionals feeling stuck, to senior executives exploring what balance and fulfillment really look like.
Beyond my private practice, I’m also proud to serve veterans pro bono—helping them translate their military experience into civilian careers through various platforms.
Whether you’re stepping into a new role, pivoting careers, or redefining what success means to you, my mission is to guide with strategy, compassion, and an unwavering belief in your potential.
I often say, “Just as there’s only one sun in our solar system, there’s only one you.” When we nurture our growth with intention, success becomes inevitable.
My coaching blends structured, actionable strategies with deep empathy and human-centered growth principles. I offer both technical insight and mindset support to help clients navigate complex change with clarity and confidence.
One of the biggest challenges I see is that many people don’t realize they’re in transition—or they hesitate to ask for help. My hope is that coaching will no longer be seen as a taboo, but as a powerful tool for growth and transformation.
On social media, I frequently share thoughts and conversations in four areas I’m most passionate about: Coaching and Consulting, Entrepreneurship and Startups, Organizational Change and Leadership, and Environment and Sustainability.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I’m a full-time engineer who started my coaching practice about three years ago. Balancing both worlds has required a tremendous amount of motivation and discipline—showing up every evening and weekend to serve my clients with the same presence and energy I bring to my day job.
Now in year three, my business isn’t yet where I hoped it would be—but my “why” is stronger than my “why not.” That purpose keeps me going. I continue to show up, explore new paths, and push through the uncertainty because I believe in the impact coaching creates.
There are definitely moments when it would be easy to slip back into the comfort of routine. Progress can feel slow, and the rewards aren’t always proportional to the effort. But resilience, for me, means staying consistent even when results aren’t immediate. I’ve learned that momentum takes time to build—and my job is to keep doing the work, one intentional step at a time.

How did you build your audience on social media?
I’m not an expert on social media by any means, but I’ve seen the impact it can create. Over the past couple of years, my LinkedIn network has grown from about 1,000 to over 10,000 connections—literally, one click at a time. Since most of my potential clients are on LinkedIn, it’s the platform I focus on to share my thoughts and reflections.
When I first started posting, I did it with blinders on—without worrying too much about what people might think or say. It’s human to be self-critical, but I chose to show up anyway. Over time, I began to notice what resonated and what didn’t.
As I shared more authentic thoughts and ideas, I started receiving encouraging comments online—and what surprised me even more were the in-person messages from people who weren’t active on social media but had been quietly following along. They told me my posts inspired them, and sometimes that a message I shared that day was exactly what they needed to hear.
For anyone wondering how to start building their presence, my advice is simple: just get started. Don’t overthink it. Keep a bias for action, stay authentic, and the right audience will find you.
