We recently connected with Porsha and Keyana Brown and have shared our conversation below.
Porsha and Keyana, appreciate you joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
To us, being dedicated and having discipline to reach a goal is what it takes to be successful. Wanting to achieve something greater than yourself is the first step. Simply put; doing better today than you did yesterday is success.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Porsha always wanted a food truck and a friend of ours had a catering truck for sale during the pandemic and it was the perfect opportunity. We named the business “Thatz A Wrap” and we make different types of wraps and eggrolls – like our stuffed cheeseburger wrap and chicken jalapeño popper eggrolls. We provide catering services to local businesses, set up at festivals and local breweries, we also have separate menu options for larger events like weddings and corporate parties. We are a veteran and family owned business. Porsha is the creative behind our delicious recipes and food and her wife Keyana is the mastermind behind scheduling, marketing, and any administrative duties. Our goal is to be involved in our community by providing amazing food and a more amazing customer service experience. We want to feel like home to our customers.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
When we purchased the food truck we had to completely gut the truck and remodel the interior to make it fit our needs. We had to add refrigerators, a griddle, fire suppression system, and other appliances. There were so many delays on the appliances, with the contractors scheduling, and the city permits that we had to reschedule our grand opening twice. After the first reschedule we wanted to give up. We took a moment to consider how far we’ve come and set a game plan and realistic schedule to give to the contractor to complete the work, and used the time waiting for the truck to be finished to our advantage by perfecting our recipes and marketing.

Do you have multiple revenue streams – if so, can you talk to us about those streams and how your developed them?
We do not currently have multiple revenue streams but we are currently writing our first sauce cookbook and we are in the process of bottling up our scratch-made buttermilk ranch and garlic parmesan cheese. Our sauce book will consist of 15 plus recipes and will be available the first quarter of 2023.
