We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Porsche Nowlin. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Porsche below.
Alright, Porsche thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
At The PEAK Creative Co., we’re all about helping women entrepreneurs level up and transform how they show up in the world. We’re on a mission to empower women entrepreneurs to bring their amazing ideas to life and show up online more purposefully, powerfully, and profitably by leveraging the power of branding. We help women all over the world elevate their online presence, attract their dream clients, and amplify their message and stories, which allows them to create the income and impact they’ve always desired. This mission is deeply personal to me because I’ve been through my own journey and struggles in life and entrepreneurship.
After years of pouring myself into my corporate career and trying to chase someone else’s definition of “success,” I realized I had lost sight of the bold vision I once had for myself. I was at a point where I felt uninspired, undervalued, and underpaid, and I knew I had to make a change. I always knew I was called to more, but for a long time, fear held me back. Then, life decided to throw a curveball my way. The global pandemic, coupled with an existential crisis, a traumatic birth experience, and my battle against postpartum depression shook things up in ways I never could’ve imagined. Talk about a wake-up call!
In those moments of struggle, I realized something crucial. I had to let go of fear. I needed to embrace the beauty of the present and tap into the strengths, gifts, and knowledge I had deep within me. Time was slipping away, and I couldn’t let it pass me by any longer. There was so much more I was meant to do in this world, and so many lives waiting to be impacted by my unique voice and expertise.
I was literally pushed into my next level of growth and transformation. It was this pivotal moment when I made the decision to show up differently and step into my power as an entrepreneur. It was time to unleash my gifts and finally birth my purpose into the world. And I wanted to empower other women to do the same.
Porsche, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am Porsche Nowlin, also known as The Branding Powerhouse! I am a brand strategist, designer, photographer, and coach who helps women entrepreneurs develop their brands with clarity, confidence, and consistency and create captivating visuals that empower them to elevate their online presence, attract their dream clients, and create the income and impact they desire.
Over the past few years, I’ve honed my expertise in personal and visual branding and brand communication, helping women entrepreneurs, coaches, creatives, and influencers bring their visions to life. I’ve developed my signature, all-inclusive branding experience, The PEAK Branding Experience, to help women embody their brands with strategic + stunning brand strategy, design, photography, and marketing.
In addition, I draw from 7 years of professional experience in the corporate and non-profit communications and marketing industry and my role as Digital Content and Communications Specialist where I’ve led various initiatives to help organizations create and maintain their brands, develop key messaging, increase engagement, and communicate with their audiences across various platforms.
I have a gift and natural ability for uncovering the magic in others and helping them to communicate it more purposefully, powerfully, and profitably through the art of branding. I dream up big ideas and develop creative strategies to help women confidently share their gifts, value, and expertise with the world.
One thing I want potential clients to know about me is that working with me is a fun and stress free experience and like having their own cheerleader pushing them and their brands to their fullest potential. I am super knowledgeable and passionate about what I do and want them to know that I am invested in their vision, growth, and success.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
One of the best things about being a creative is the sense of freedom and self-expression it brings. Coming from the corporate world into the world of being a creative entrepreneur was like day and night — it’s two totally different worlds. As a creative, I have the autonomy to design my own path, follow my passions, and to build a business that aligns with my values and vision for myself. I get to create a future that’s not bound by any limitations. I have the power to turn my (and those of the women I work with) wildest ideas into reality and bring beauty, inspiration, and joy into the world. Whether it’s through photography, design, writing, or any other form of creative expression, I have the ability to make an impact and leave a lasting legacy while helping others to do the same. Additionally, being a creative gives me a deeper sense of fulfillment and purpose. I believe when you can wake up every day and do what you love, and when you see the impact you’re making in the lives of others, there’s no greater feeling in the world. It’s a constant reminder that you are living your truth, walking in your purpose, and making a difference.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
When I first began my career in Corporate America after college, I struggled with imposter syndrome. And when I started my own business many years later, those same feelings resurfaced. It wasn’t easy, but I knew I had to overcome these obstacles in order to move forward and truly be successful.
One of the biggest challenges as a business owner is staying true to your own vision, voice, and values. It’s so easy to get caught up in what others are doing and saying that we often lose sight of our uniqueness. But I’ve learned that every successful business owner had to start somewhere, and there’s no need to compare your journey to others’.
Now, when imposter syndrome creeps in, I remind myself of who I am, my purpose, and why I started my business in the first place. I’ve learned how to tune out the noise, focus on my strengths, and use my authenticity as fuel to create something truly unique.
