We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Porche Jackson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Porche, thanks for joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?

I think one of the key thing to be successful is having the right Mindset. The attitude you have for yourself and the way you typically think about things important.

Having goals , being self-motivated, and professional will make you successful.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I was in the finance Industry for 10 years. I got tired of the routine and wanted a change. Ive always wanted to be a business owner. It was very hard making the decision to leave a job that was sable to start a new career and business but I made that leap of faith. I attend Kenneth Schumer and became a Licensed esthetician .My family was very supportive in my journey to go back to Cosmotology school. Ive always had a love for skincare after clearing my skincare from breakout after a bad reaction on birth control years prior.

The journey during school was a good experience. However I was not employed durning that process. After completing school and getting license I had to hit the ground running and start my business. I started renting a suite inside of a Hair salon. I was a great experience. I had the opportunity to work with a great business owner Tina McEelveen. I learned so much about business by working in a salon. I quickly outgrew that space and moved into a storefront after my first year in business.
The services that I offer is Full body hair removal, facials, chemical peel , teeth whiting and Vsteam. We specialize in hair removal, acne, and corrective skincare.

What set us apart from other business is our passion for skincare. Clients and our reviews always stated we educate our clients.

Im the most proud of how many clients we serve and far people come to get services. We have clients all over the pee dee. wit at least half of our clientele driving 30 mis to get serviced.

Potienal clients should not that it an experience when they get services at Luxe Beauty and Medspa.

Have you ever had to pivot?

Durning covid we had to pivot at that time. We sold products at that time to still be able to help and service our community. We sold skincare kits. During that down time while we was shut down I took a lot of education class. That year was also one of our growth years. Immediately after we open back up we expanded to a new storefront location. Growth can come at any time.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?

I start my day with a Podcast. I listen to podcast faithfully because they keep me motivated. My goal is to always read one book per month. Mindset is key in Entrepreneur. Entrepreneur is not easy ,its good and bad days. listening to other business owner on different lesson, obstacle, and business strategies have helped me for this journey . I’ve learned so many lesson and realize what I may be experiences in my business is normal .
