Pollyana, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Are you able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen?

For the past year, I’ve fully embraced the artist’s life, dedicating all my time and energy to my creative pursuits. Before taking this leap, I spent some time working in an environment that allowed me to make valuable connections in the art world. During that period, I focused on honing my artistic skills and improving my portfolio, while also actively engaging with social media platforms to showcase my work.

As I delved deeper into my artistic journey, I realized the importance of independence and flexibility. In July 2022, I made a significant decision—I purchased an RV. This not only granted me the freedom to move around as I pleased but also helped me reduce my monthly expenses. With my newfound mobility and lowered living costs, I was able to fully sustain myself through the income generated by my art.

It hasn’t always been an easy path, but by leveraging my connections, continuously enhancing my artistic abilities, and capitalizing on the power of social media, I successfully transitioned into a self-sufficient artist. The decision to embrace the artist’s life and invest in my own mobile living space has truly been transformative, allowing me to live my passion and make a living doing what I love.

Pollyana, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I lead a fulfilling life as a full-time traveling RV artist, with watercolor as my primary medium. My artistic journey has led me to explore various subject matters, including pet portraits, landscapes, and live event painting. While my passion for painting started when I was a little girl, it is in the past five years that I have truly flourished as an artist, committing myself to this path on a full-time basis.

Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to showcase my artwork both through galleries and my own personal endeavors. This has allowed me to connect with a diverse audience and share my creative vision with the world. As a traveling artist, I find inspiration in the changing landscapes and the people I encounter along my journey. My art has become a means of expression, capturing the beauty of the places I visit and the emotions they evoke.

While the path of a full-time artist has its challenges, I am grateful for the opportunity to immerse myself in my art every single day. It is a constant process of growth and discovery, as I continue to refine my skills, experiment with new techniques, and find my unique voice as an artist. I am thrilled to have turned my passion into a profession, and I look forward to the many creative adventures that lie ahead.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

I strive to sustain my livelihood through the sale of my artwork, enabling me to continue pursuing my passion. I aspire to share my work far and wide, reaching individuals who derive joy and fulfillment from experiencing my creations. Moreover, my mission encompasses the ongoing expression of my artistic voice and the ability to engage in what I truly love.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

The aspect I find most rewarding as an artist is the creative freedom it offers. I am able to delve into the depths of my imagination, explore various techniques, and give life to my unique visions. This freedom allows me to translate my ideas into tangible creations and make a personal statement through my work. Additionally, the connections I form with others who appreciate my art bring immense fulfillment. Knowing that my creations resonate with and touch the lives of others is truly rewarding and reinforces my passion for what I do.
