Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to PM Lowe. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
PM, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Are you happier as a creative? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job? Can you talk to us about how you think through these emotions?
Over time, I’ve based all my happiness in music. Now, as I’ve gotten older, music is still a driving force and while it does make me happy and free to create, I’ve learned to spread that happiness across over things I do, because we all know what makes you laugh can also make you cry. I have a job as well, hopefully I won’t be needing that job in the near future, but this job has gave me the opportunity to fuel my music, and in turn I’m happy for the benefits that job has given me. It’s all about balance, that’s my biggest insight to all of this. It’s all about the balance.
PM, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Well, I’ve been into music since the age of 6. That might be younger but that is as far as I can remember. My cousin is the one that taught me how to make beats so ever since 11-12, I was hooked. Over the years, the main thing that is a problem is staying motivated. When you are younger, you really don’t have any worries like the common adult would, usually. As you get older, more and more things start to take over, and life kicks in, so I would say that is a big problem for me. I take pride and joy being as consistent as I am. Since 2012, I would put out a project and learn as I go. I’ve produced for some great artists, hit the radio a few times and right now I’m excited for the release of my new single and the rollout for my new album. Time is too short to just sit and wait for the right moment, there is no right moment other than the now.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding thing is seeing how my art and words connect with people. It lets me know I’m not the only one feeling like this.
Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
Creatives wear our hearts on our sleeves. There are times were we can take on the world, some days we can’t. We view the world from a different lens and may pick up on things a non creative can’t. But we need each other in order to bounce off each other.
