We recently connected with Play Factory and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Play Factory thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
We want to be remembered as a collective that creates meaningful art people can truly connect with. While our films are deeply important to us and we love making them, the real reward comes from seeing the impact they have on others. There’s something special about creating stories that not only entertain but feel like they could be the audience’s stories too. That relatability is what drives us to keep going and keep creating.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
We’re PlayFactory, a video production company based in New Jersey. What started in 2019 as a two-man YouTube channel by Julian and Rob, focused on photography and videography, has grown into something much bigger. By 2021, we became a team of five, adding Parisse, Marc, and Wendell, all driven by the dream of creating our own short films, web series, and original projects. For Julian and Rob, this shift felt like finally stepping into what they were always meant to do.
None of us came into this with formal experience in filmmaking, writing, or acting. But that didn’t stop us. We made it our mission to grow together, learning and building everything organically. With our skills behind the camera already sharp, the real challenge became bringing our ideas to life through storytelling.
Now, in 2025, we’ve come a long way. Our team has grown (shoutout to Trinity!), and together we’ve created over 80 videos, produced three short films, launched a web series (Scorpio Moon), and have even more exciting projects in the works. Our latest short film, Through Thick and Thin, was nominated for multiple awards and has racked up over 12,000 views on YouTube. In addition, we were blessed to premiere the film at a movie theater.
One of our core intentions is to create films people can feel. That is at the core of everything we create. It’s only the beginning, and we’re just getting started!

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Creating quality content is what we’re all about. We genuinely care about what we do, and we believe that passion shines through in the work we put out. Whether it’s a funny video or a dramatic short film, we always focus on delivering something top-notch. That consistency in quality makes it easier for people to trust and look forward to whatever we drop next. Also, with a team of six, we bring together a variety of life experiences and personalities, which helps us create films that connect with a wide range of people. That relatability has been key to building the reputation we have today. In many ways, the stories we tell are reflections of our audience’s own experiences, and that’s what makes them so meaningful.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Our goal is simple: to bring our visions to life and create something that connects with someone out there. As a team of six, we’re constantly bouncing around ideas, and while not everything can be produced at once, the joy of taking a project from concept to release is unmatched. That feeling is what keeps us coming back, ready to do it all over again for the next idea.
For us, art is about making emotional connections. If just one person resonates with what we’ve created, that makes all the hard work worth it.
In the future, we hope to partner with larger production companies and studios to bring even bigger projects to life. But for now, we’re embracing the process—making the art we love and building a community to share the journey with us.
