We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Pinkiee J a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Pinkiee, appreciate you joining us today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
Learning any new skill has it’s highs and lows. The beginning stages of Content Creation can be scary at times. Finding your niche, jumping into a over saturated field, the need to know information. My early stages of creating I had no sense of direction. Overwhelmed, overthinking ideas, searching for my “people and or Audience “ There is so many components that aided in my discouragement. So I spent time watching others, seeing what my current viewers engaged in the most in! Shortly after my consistency posting of my style and makeup artistry, I learned that The up side to creating is once you realize it’s personality and individuality base your unstoppable! The skill I’d share to be the most valuable would be consistently. Not meaning just overly posting. Building your own consistent schedule. Followed by engaging with other creators. Being consistent on and offline. I’d say my personal obstacle would honestly be myself. Prior to me entering the beauty world, night life and content creating. I’d say I’ve always been a natural influencer. Family and social media friends had encouraged a “YouTube channel and or a place to showcase my talents ” way before I started! Once I believed that, I got out of my way!

Pinkiee, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
The title of my article is “ The girl that creates & not just content. I am a nightlife influencer and hostess. Where I am able to create nightlife experiences in cities all over the world. I am a plus size model where I am able to create and break fashion boundaries for girls of size while showcasing my confidence and individuality. Currently Signed to “Phaat Mamaz “ a model group based out saginaw Michigan! I am licensed in all things beauty. With my relocation my services will be available for booking in August of this year! I am the ceo of a small business in the middle of a long rebranding! Samples are in! I am E-Book writer, where I’ll be creating a reliable source for beginner friendly content creators. ( Available 6/11/25) I am a podcaster where with my voice, my opinions and my Prospective, where I create a safe space while sharing my personal experiences.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
All the perks! Being able to meet people all over the world. Creating relationships and memories. Being able to make income being who I am! Most importantly the overall influence I’ve been able to be to people all over! Like any job it has it’s hard moments but all the opportunities that I’ve received Over these past few years has made it worth. I’d do it all again!

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
Creating is more then just a person in a public space with camera ( as you shop, at the gym, Salon) a YouTuber or a person with a high following on a platform. Don’t get me wrong their are some who aren’t looking to do anything but make money, go viral or share a laugh. Honestly to many Creating is career, a lifestyle and most importantly it put us in the biggest spaces of vulnerability. Similar to a entrepreneur or service provider. Starting at ground zero (as in finding your footing, losing more than your gaining, finding your clientele and or target audience) The growth and knowledge you gain within every loss you experience) until your a master stylist or making a million dollars in profit. Creating is the same! So to my non- creatives know that this is just as serious as your 9-5 jobs you receive a degree in, your Side jobs and hobbies. Those Content creators who inspire to leave their nine to five jobs are eventually able to! So one thing I ask is that you be mindful of the passion we have, the risk we take and the sacrifices we make as creators.
