Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Pinkie Dabney. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Pinkie, appreciate you joining us today. Have you been able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen? Was it like that from day one? If not, what were some of the major steps and milestones and do you think you could have sped up the process somehow knowing what you know now?
I make a living doing multiple things. I work as a female truck driver and I am a full time blogger and create educational/ motivational content. It’s always rough trying to keep people engaged enough to keep views up so that revenue can keep rolling in but I keep my “WHY” at the forefront to keep posting and creating better content. The setbacks come with change in trends and dealing with judgement from others but they fuels me to push harder.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a single mom of five children that are now grown. I struggle from nothing to success. The reason I got into trucking is because I wanted a job that I could depend on myself only to provide for me and my children. I got tired of asking for help just to get turned down so I made sure to get education and training to be valuable in the work force.. I provide logistics services and content for entertainment, educational, and motivation on social media. What sets me apart is no matter how big I have gotten on social media, I am still very down to earth and non judgmental. I look to help others achieve. I’m proud that I did not quit even though so much was stacked against me and I want people to know that if I can push and make it through this thing we call life then so can you.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I been in a domestic violent relationship that almost cost me my life when I was living in a state with me and my five children alone. I kept going in order to take care of my children alone after I left the perpetrator. I started over from scratch alone with five children and builded my career and own place plus more. I kept going instead of staying a victim.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I want freedom of expression and financial freedom. The drive is to be myself wholeheartedly.
