We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Pimm Buddhari. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Pimm below.
Alright, Pimm thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Was there an experience or lesson you learned at a previous job that’s benefited your career afterwards?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned as a creative came from working on a branding project for a new startup. The client was ambitious and had high expectations, wanting a brand identity that would really stand out in a crowded market. At the time, it was one of my first projects after finishing school, so I felt a mix of excitement and anxiety.
During the process, I found myself constantly second-guessing my ideas and visions, trying to predict what the client might want, and worrying about meeting their expectations. It wasn’t until later that I realized my self-doubt was hindering my creativity. The turning point came when I learned to trust myself and embraced the idea that clients seek out your services not just for your technical skills, but for your distinct taste and vision.
This lesson has stuck with me throughout my career. It taught me the importance of self-confidence in creative work and that believing in your creative instincts can lead to rewarding outcomes.

Pimm, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hello! I’m Pimm Buddhari, an art director, designer, and visual storyteller from Bangkok, Thailand, currently based in NYC.
Since I was young, I’ve been the one my family and friends turn to for creative and design advice. Whether it was helping out my siblings and friends with their art assignments or giving design suggestions, I’ve always seemed to naturally step into the role of an art and design director! It was pretty clear from the start that my future lay in the creative field.
My journey in the creative world kicked off with experience in branding, e-commerce, illustration, industrial, graphic, and fashion design. The diverse experiences I’ve had influenced how I approach design and storytelling. Each one has added something to my perspective and the way I express myself creatively.
Right now, I’m working as an art director and designer at a creative agency that partners with major tech companies. It’s not the path I initially saw for myself, but life has a funny way of leading us to unexpected but fulfilling places. I love what I do and find real joy in blending creativity with strategic thinking to bring impactful projects to life.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
In my creative journey, my main goal is to bring joy to people through my work. I want to create a positive and uplifting experience for my audience, reminding them to appreciate the beauty in the small things around them.
I truly believe that even the simplest details can hold beauty and inspiration. Everyday items like clothing tags, tickets, and other often-overlooked objects remind me that beauty can be found in the most mundane things. These small details inspire me to create designs that not only capture attention but also bring a sense of delight and wonder to those who encounter them.
My mission is to show that art doesn’t always have to be grand or complex to have an impact. It can be found in the simplest elements of daily life, dressing up the ordinary and making it extraordinary.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, one of the most rewarding aspects of being a creative is witnessing the impact my work has on others. There’s a special satisfaction in seeing people engage with my designs—whether it’s a design that captures their attention, a campaign that inspires them, or an illustration that brings them joy. When I see people react positively to my work, it reassures me that I’m making a meaningful contribution.
