Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Pierre Ngung. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Pierre, thanks for joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
The mission behind VIBE Oasis™ is deeply personal to me. I’ve always believed in the power of human connection—how live music and shared experiences bring people together in ways that leave lasting impressions. Growing up in a multicultural environment, I developed a deep appreciation for diversity, travel, music and art.
Through my travels, I’ve had the privilege to immerse myself in various communities, experiencing their music, cuisine, and entertainment firsthand. These experiences ignited my passion for creating a platform that not only celebrates life and culture but also connects people through the universal language of live music.
At the same time, I saw the struggles artists, venues, and event organizers face—getting the right audience to show up remains one of the biggest challenges. So many talented artists go unheard, and so many music lovers miss out on incredible experiences simply because they don’t know where to find them.
That’s where VIBE Oasis™ and our flagship platform, VIBE – The Hub app, come in—to bridge that gap. We empower local businesses, venues and artists to curate exceptional live experiences for music and entertainment fans. Through innovation, technology-driven solutions, and a deep appreciation for the power of live experiences, we aim to transform the way people connect, discover, and celebrate the magic of music and entertainment in their communities.
Today, I’m expanding on that promise as I take on the role of General Manager for Sofar Sounds San Diego, furthering the mission of creating intimate, high-quality live music experiences.Through the partnership between VIBE Oasis™ and Sofar Sounds San Diego, our goal is to cultivate spaces where every artist has a voice, every venue has a spotlight, and every music and entertainment lover can truly find their vibe.

Pierre, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Pierre—a world traveler, entrepreneur, and advocate for live music and human connection. My career began in B2B events and tech sales, where I advanced from a customer service representative to a Director of Enterprise Sales. However, my drive for growth and autonomy led me to a pivotal moment in my career. Realizing the limitations of corporate roles, I decided to channel my skills and passion into something more impactful—creating meaningful experiences that connect communities through music.
A major challenge in the live music industry is bringing together the right artists, venues, and audiences. To address this, I founded VIBE Oasis™, an event listing and talent booking platform designed to streamline these connections. Our flagship app, VIBE – The Hub, serves as a bridge between unforgettable live experiences and the people seeking them. Whether it’s uncovering hidden-gem performances, giving artists more opportunities to take the stage, or helping venues attract enthusiastic crowds, our mission is to make live music more accessible, discoverable, and thriving.
What sets us apart is our community-driven approach and eclectic vibes. We don’t just list events; we curate experiences that leave lasting impressions. Now, through our partnership with Sofar Sounds San Diego, we’re expanding our reach to create even more intimate, high-quality live music experiences, ensuring artists get the platform they deserve while audiences discover unforgettable moments.
I’m proud of the impact we’ve made in bringing people together through music, and I’m excited to push this mission forward as the General Manager of Sofar Sounds San Diego. Whether you’re looking to discover live music, book incredible talent, or create unforgettable events, VIBE Oasis™ and Sofar Sounds San Diego are here to make it happen.
My vision? A world where every artist has a voice, every venue has a spotlight, and every music lover can truly find their vibe.

Any advice for managing a team?
My advice for managing a team and maintaining high morale is to prioritize open communication, trust, and recognition. It’s important to keep the lines of communication open and ensure that everyone feels heard, valued, and that their input matters. In my cases, regular communication and check-ins, whether through team meetings or one-on-ones, help you stay connected with your team’s needs, challenges, and successes.
At Vibe Oasis, transparency plays a huge role in building trust. We are honest about our company’s goals, challenges, and changes, so our team feels involved and aligned with the bigger picture.
When everyone understands how their work contributes to the overall mission, it gives them a sense of purpose and belonging. Empowering your team by giving them autonomy in their roles helps them feel like they’re actively contributing to something bigger.
It’s also essential to celebrate achievements, both big and small. Recognizing hard work and effort, publicly and/or privately boosts morale and shows your team that their contributions are making an impact—not just within the organization, but on the lives of others. Creating an environment where your team feels like they’re making a difference helps them stay motivated and committed.
And importantly, fostering a fun, positive vibes, collaborative culture that encourages creativity and personal growth ensures that your team remains energized and enthusiastic.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Building my audience on social media has been an organic process. I started by sharing live music moments and capturing artists in their flow, creating content that resonated with both music lovers and creators. Consistency was key—engaging with my audience by commenting on their posts, responding to their comments, listening to their feedback, and offering giveaways to keep things exciting.
As my presence grew, I focused on collaborating with others in the industry—artists, venues, and influencers—which helped expand my reach. The priority was always on building relationships rather than just promoting myself or my brand. The more authentic connections I fostered, the stronger my community became.
For anyone just starting to build their social media presence, my advice is simple: stay authentic and create value for your audience. Don’t try to cater to everyone—find your niche, stay consistent, and engage meaningfully. Building an engaged community takes time, and it’s not about growing a huge following quickly; it’s about creating a genuine connection with those who resonate with what you do. Lastly, don’t be afraid to experiment with different types of content and see what connects most with your audience. If you stay true to yourself and remain patient, the results will come.
