Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Pierre Martin. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Pierre thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
Straight out of high school, understanding the academic path was not in line of my aspirations, and having family support to pursue either photography or music studies, both endeavors i was already very much involved in.

Pierre, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I followed a parallel path studying music and visual arts, applying as much interest to details and passion whilst immersed in each craft.
Putting away all commercial requirements definitely helped acquiring a taste for other artists pushing boundaries, therefore defining the avant-gardist in me, rather than follow established and often much re-hashed recipes.
If offered the opportunity, I tend to show first and foremost my best creative approach, with obvious openings for compromise, rather than the other way around.
This approach has led me to successful collaborations in photography and music, and most of all the joy of repeat work with people I respect, some of them my actual mentors of the past.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
I do firmly believe society craves for independent entrepreneurs, not just artists, but also small businesses / shops.
Any local farmer’s market or neighborhood merchant / eatery is an example of this, always packed with local residents, and even some travelers making the journey just for the experience and quality.
Relying on internet-only solutions for anything entertainment and shopping, while convenient at times, is an absolute abomination to the very concept of society, where by definition people are supposed to regroup and interact.
Social media as well, though a great passport to discover new developments, should never be the end reach but rather the initial light which drives interest, going diverse places, discover, meet, and enrich one’s outlook on everything life.

We’d love to hear your thoughts on NFTs. (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
Probably the poorest way one can claim to experience art ownership.
I believe in art galleries, painting, prints, concert venues, performance.
