Piero, appreciate you joining us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?

Thank you again for having me. So the name was a bit challenging at first when there are an infinite amount of options, and most of them are wrong. The day was Thursday, and we figured we could name it a day where feelings are a bit provoked and different than most days. What if a brand was centered around all the things that occur on a thursday?The idea was really cool and we gave it an edgy twist by removing the “u” in between, so it would just be “thrsday”. We feel this day is unique because it gives a sense of excitement of what’s to come. Society plans events for the weekend like parties, dates, ceremonies, concerts, etc. There is an alluring sense of imagination because you know you are about to have a lot of fun. So thrsday was the name, where we could expand into those emotions through beautifully crafted garments.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

My name is Piero Madu. I am an entrepreneur based out of Miami Florida and I specialize in content creation & branding. My two main focuses are Thrsday (clothing brand) & Black Glass (CGI branding company). It all started when I picked up a camera back in 2018 to see if I could be good at photography and videography. I was going through a midlife crisis of not knowing what I wanted to pursue in life during that time. After reflecting back when I was younger, I remembered being really creative and performing the best at projects that required originality and uniqueness. I figured a camera was a way for me to express my ideas and bring them to life. So I bought a camera and started to realize that I had a special talent hidden inside, I knew that if I kept working it could develop into something really great. I am also very artistic, so I explore different artforms and I plan on exploring other realms of art as I continue to live my life. Currently, I am working on thrsday, which is a clothing art form and a way to express ourselves through garments. I am very proud of what we are building, since the clothing industry is very competitive I am happy we are paving our own lane into the world. Most importantly, I feel like the world accepts thrsday and it can live out there, we love to create unique ideas we have not seen before and for people to truly feel a certain way when wearing our clothes. It is difficult, but extremely rewarding. I also love that it inspires people, as an artist it definitely makes all the hard work worth it.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?

It’s quite a funny story. We actually met in middle school in 7th grade. We were not close back then, we had mutual friends and would see each-other here and there. We later connected again in our 19’s because he was pursuing youtube and I was doing videography at the time, so it was the perfect time to connect and benefit from each other’s talents. It’s quite the story, and I think it’s very rare but life can be spontaneous.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

I believe the product in itself truly will speak for itself. Whether it’s a service from Black Glass or a hoodie from Thrsday, when the product is of highest quality, people will be attracted to it. We barely spend any money on advertising. Occasionally we will run ads for awareness but our most successful way of taking thrsday out in the world is by giving away free garments to people we are fans of. Sounds a bit scary at first, but we just give our clothing away with no requirements to certain folks, and they wear it because they truly love it. I think that is the best way to go about it, because it’s a sign that people are genuinely liking it without the need to get paid to promote it.
