We were lucky to catch up with Phystee Brown recently and have shared our conversation below.
Phystee , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
As a babygirl I always wanted to become a model. I would see the pretty girls on tv and in magazines and wanted to be just like them. Being a model for over 10+ years I was inspired to step out on faith. Creating concepts for my own photoshoots is were it all began. I would come up with different out of this world ideas and brought them to life through my art. I’ve always been uniquely different, have always liked weird things, very colorful and bubbly.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I remember sitting in a restaurant celebrating a family birthday and a photographer came to our table asking if I’d ever took professional pictures. I replied telling him no but I always wanted too. He gave me a business card,I reached out and the rest is history. I grew a love for the camera. Uneducated, absolutely no knowledge of modeling I just kept taking pictures. After about 3 years I was ready to take my modeling career to the next level so I had to learn the business of fashion/modeling. I had a photographer friend that truly believed in me and he blessed me with meeting my idol Tanieka Carter (she’s absolutely amazing). As a model she was my inspiration. I learned so much, and became knowledgeable of the fashion/modeling industry. I was hungry to know and learn it all. I would attend classes, seminars, and different meet ups and I took in all the knowledge. Going into my 5th year doors started opening and what started as just a dream, was becoming my reality. After being able to travel the world doing what I love, I always felt like something was missing and I made the ultimate decision to put my heels down and take another huge step of faith. Fear & Doubt was my worst enemy. Faith & Hope was my best friend, that’s when I started coaching & mentoring. Every show, photoshoot, etc I always learned something and from those lessons it helped me become the coach and mentor I am for other inspiring models today. Being able to be a blessing to those whom like myself different have the proper knowledge of fashion/modeling I enjoy being able to be give that knowledge to someone else. On my journey God was doing more BIGGER I was comfortable yet again lol… You can’t sleep on your gifts. It’s time to trust God and take the next step and that’s were Phystee Brown Productions 🤎 come in. I’m birthing my baby this year and I’m extremely excited. More than grateful/thankful. I’ve been blessed to work with some amazingly talented people from models, photographers, business owners, build brands for others, offer opportunities, be used as the vessel THINGS ARE SO AMAZING IN MY LIFE!
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding/absolute best part is being able to be a blessing to other dreamers. To be an example for them. Being able to motivate and inspire others to go for it. Be the best version of THEMSELVES! The smiles, confidence, and encouragement I’m able to give others IS THE MOST REWARDING PART!
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is to change lives. To spread love and light, impact every heart I’m blessed to be apart of. Be used as a vessel. My goal is to have an successful production company built off love and light. Be able to give ack to my city and provide a platform that puts the modeling/fashion world on a bigger brighter light.
