Phyllis, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you tell us a bit about who your hero is and the influence they’ve had on you?
My mum is and will always be my hero. I have learnt to appreciate what I have and be consistent in achieving my goals. Nothing stops me from being successful as long as I am alive and I’ll continue being kind to others.

Phyllis, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am Phyllis, a young lady from Ghana who’s very hardworking and passionate . I hold a bachelor’s degree in social studies education. I started retailing products on campus while in my second year. I’ve sold clothes, food, perfumes and watches all while on campus. I decided to stick with selling of perfumes and other fragranced products after school to help me specialize and grow in that field and it’s quite challenging but going great as well. I’m glad I get to learn a lot and improve my business based on the feedback from my customers. I treat all my customers with great respect and care.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I have contact cards for most of my clients and I have a good relationship with most of them. I send them automated scheduled text messages and emails on holidays to wish them a happy holiday. I go as far as finding out their birthdays and sending them a birthday message or calling to wish them. I make them feel so special that they count my business as family. There are days where products are discounted and old customers are given a higher percentage.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I had to stop giving out my products to close friends on credit to pay back later. This is something that made me lose a lot of funds as they won’t pay on time and others end up not paying at all.
