We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Phunky Burgos a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Phunky, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What do you think it takes to be successful?

I feel like it’s a lot of willpower to be successful and a lot of failure to do successful it’s a lot of emotional strain persevere regardless of your mistakes in your setbacks a lot of people came up halfway and I feel like that’s what separates alot of ppl I feel like if you focus on your small accomplishments your viewers to attain success more because you’re not focusing on mistakes which I feel like a lot of do i remember when I first moved to New York I expected so much for myself and it was simply just not obtainable with the amount of work that I was putting into I would always think about why me and why I have to put in so much work when the reality of it is you don’t know how much work so most putting in just by looking at social media and unless your nepo Baby it’s really hard to get things handed to you everything is based on who you know and the synchronicity’s that life will give you I always think about how I would feel when I obtain the amount of success that I want and how unfulfilled I would be if I just got it without having to do anything

Phunky, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

my name is phunky im a multifaceted artist based in bk ny ive been an artist ever since i can remember i grew up around art my mom would put me in art competitions and i always knew im a star and have a gift to show the world . Being an artist is my passion as an Aries i have a passion for EVERYTHING i would love to use every medium possible at some point. I really love fashion and the way that you’re able to really express yourself outwardly to the world and so many different ways nothing really helps me it’s almost cathartic to style people and to make clothes. My art is very therapeutic for me its such a release. what sets me apart is I’m able to work with so many mediums and I don’t just stick to one thing I think it really helps me stand out because I have a lot of different types of work to offer an a lot to show for things like Fashion styling fashion design jewelry ,interior design, sculpting ,set design photography graphic design etc. I’m really proud of my graphic design I put in a lot of work and a lot of dedication people to know that manifestation is key and delusion will take you so far and never let anyone tell you that you can’t do more than one thing and be successful at it if its truly your passion you’ll never fail

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

Honestly social media really brings in clients especially social media marketing I feel like a lot of my audience is on TikTok and TikTok has really helped me grow my clientele Instagram reels really helps because it’s fairly new it really helps the algorithm so any source of original content t will really push you out there and show you to other people around the world

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

The end goal is really the most rewarding aspect just being able to look at something and think so proud that you actually were able to do it I think creating some thing is so major and it’s very just such a pivotal moment in any artist career to work really hard on something and put in as much detail as they can and really just make something like a drawing into like a real life thing
