Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Phresh Visuals. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Phresh, appreciate you joining us today. Can you walk us through some of the key steps that allowed you move beyond an idea and actually launch?
Before actually becoming a filmmaker and starting my own business I developed a love and passion for cinematography from watching films as a child such as “ Do The Right Thing, House Party, The Wood, and Halloween” to name a few. This love and passion eventually grew which led me to purchase my first camera which was an old-school Nikon that I had purchased from a pawn shop in Richmond Virginia for around $50-80 dollars. After purchasing my first camera I started recording a street drumming crew known as the “Buk-It-Hedz” which I began traveling with the group along the entire east coast while doing so I also was shooting product photography and street and pop art. All of these things led me to pursue an actual career in the film and television industry In 2019 I decided to enroll at Full Sail University for a bachelor’s degree in Digital Cinematography. During my time at Full Sail, I learned basic and advanced skills needed to create various forms of media content such as music videos, documentaries, live productions, and short and full feature-length films in which I also won first place twice in my school’s movie festival for best “How-To instructional video” and Best Documentary film. After learning these skills I decided to start my multimedia agency named Phreshly Baked Studios in which I now offer services such as cinematography, videography, photography, web design, graphic design, and brand enhancement plus a few additional services.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Far as brand services for Phreshly Baked Studios we currently offer photography, Videography, cinematography, web design, brand enhancement, brand identity, and brand marketing and promotion. Far as problems, we can solve for clients would be the burden of figuring out how, where, or when to start incorporating visual content for their brands and how to make that visual content look the best it possibly can. To go more in-depth and give an example of this, choosing a service such as videography for a music video, the average artist typically would have to have the location picked, wardrobe decided, and overall storyboard completed unless signed to a major label where they would take care of everything. With my services, we offer video treatment creation options, location scouting, and wardrobe selection to ensure the locations, wardrobe, and song itself are all aligned to give the artist and the viewers the best experience possible. Far as what I want potential clients/followers/fans to know about my brand is that we take on every project as if it is our own and strive to provide the best services and work possible and don’t stop until we do.
Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
A few resources I wish I knew about earlier in my creative journey would firstly have to be lighting and also would consider this the most important resource to learn and use if you are in my field. Having the best or newest camera is not necessary to produce amazing images if you understand how to light the environment you are in so I definitely would recommend any creative pursuing the same career to take some time to fully understand lighting and the different types of lights and what they can do to transform an image and the objects within. Another good resource I wish I had earlier in my creative journey is Linkedin Learning which is what I currently use to sharpen my current creative skills and also learn new ones. Linkedin learning offers thousands of videos and tutorials for new creatives that can help you learn basically every skill there is to know in photography, videography, and cinematography.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My current goal/mission is to write and direct a few web and television series before attempting to write a box office film.
