Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Phoenix White. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Phoenix, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
One of the most significant risks I took was stepping into the role of a psychedelic therapist and plant medicine facilitator—a journey that felt like a calling from the medicine itself. This adventure began with a bold leap of faith when my family and I listened to the call and made an international move to Mexico. There I found myself engulfed in learning about ancient healing methods and started to train and learn from incredible shamans and medicine women.. It was a transformative experience that opened the door to profound mind blowing expansion so I embraced it.
At the time, I was navigating becoming a new mother with a five-month-old baby, as well as brain surgery. I had learned to be cautious about anything that could impact my mental and physical health. The stigma surrounding psychedelics was pervasive, and I was acutely aware of the fears and judgement surrounding them. I don’t advocate for reckless drug use; instead, I see plant medicine as a natural, sacred tool for healing.
I found that the pull toward this work grew stronger especially after my first ceremony. I had a revelation: “This is a life hack.” Plant medicine forces you to come face to face with yourself, and to confront parts that have been long avoided or buried. I realized that these ceremonies could help uncover trauma that might take more than 7 years to surface through conventional therapy. It was deep healing—an awakening of the mind and spirit that offers a roadmap for self-discovery and the means to dismantle the barriers holding us back.
Honestly, in the beginning, I had no idea how I would promote or even tell people that I did this work. I felt nervous about exposing it to the world. But as I began hosting international; ceremonies, I quickly discovered that most of them sold out simply through word of mouth. To my surprise, I also found that no one took issue with what I was offering. The need for healing was palpable, and people were eager to explore this path.
I knew I had to create a safe space and lead the way as a guardian of these transformative experiences. Not everyone can travel to the jungle, so I made it my mission to bring the medicine to them, curating an environment where healing could unfold in a familiar and supportive setting.
My goal was to demystify the experience and empower individuals to embark on their own journeys of transformation.
Of course, I encountered fears, but deep down, I knew this was my path. I studied and trained to ensure I could facilitate these powerful experiences safely and ethically, diving into harm reduction and integration practices to create the right atmosphere for healing.
Fast forward four years, and I’m proud to be recognized as one of the leading women of color in the field of psychedelic plant medicine . I’ve facilitated more than 450+ individuals, with over 400+ five-star reviews. The outcomes speak volumes: a 99.5% improvement rate in mental health among those I’ve worked with, and that number keeps rising.
The greatest reward has been witnessing individuals confront their traumas and experience profound shifts in their lives. Each ceremony deepens my belief in the transformative power of plant medicine and the importance of approaching this work with love, intention, and a steadfast commitment to healing.
Taking the risk to become a Facilitator specializing in ceremonial psychedelics has been life-changing for me. I’m so grateful I listened to that call and took the leap into this sacred work. I would’ve never thought I would be doing this, and mind-blowing to see how much the movement has grown.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Phoenix White, the Queen of Radical Liberation, and I’m here to ignite your inner fire! My journey is anything but ordinary. After overcoming monumental challenges—surviving brain surgery, trauma, and homelessness—I transformed my pain into purpose, dedicating my life to helping others reclaim their strength and unleash their potential.
I founded Sacred Celestial, a holistic wellness company where we create vibrant, inclusive spaces for healing and personal growth. Here, we dive deep into the realms of longevity biohacking, somatic workshops, and holistic plant medicine circles, all tailored to awaken the unique magic within each individual.
I’m beyond excited to relaunch my book, Redefining Strong, a powerful exploration of empowerment that encourages readers to break free from conventional definitions of strength and embrace their true selves. Alongside this, I’m launching a podcast where I’ll share raw, real conversations about mental wellness, personal empowerment, and the journey to radical liberation.
Next year in April, I’m also co-hosting a transformative retreat in Egypt called the Awakening – priestess initiation. Imagine immersing yourself in ancient wisdom and spiritual growth, connecting with like-minded souls as we unlock the secrets of our power together.
What truly sets me apart is my radical approach to healing. I blend ancient practices with cutting-edge techniques, creating multi-sensory experiences that resonate deeply with those ready for radical transformation. My mission is to ignite a fire within each person, empowering them to embrace their unique journeys unapologetically.
At Sacred Celestial, we’re building a thriving community where individuals leave feeling unstoppable and aligned with their purpose.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One significant lesson I had to unlearn was the belief that vulnerability was a weakness. Growing up, I often associated strength with stoicism and self-reliance, thinking that showing any sign of vulnerability would diminish my power and credibility. This mindset served me to some extent, especially in high-pressure situations, but it also created barriers in my relationships and hindered my ability to connect authentically with others.
The turning point came after my brain surgery. Facing such a profound life event forced me to confront my fears and insecurities head-on. In the process of healing, I began to see how my reluctance to share my struggles limited my connections with others who were going through similar challenges. I realized that when I opened up about my experiences, it not only helped me process my emotions but also allowed others to feel seen and heard.
Through this journey, I unlearned the idea that vulnerability equates to weakness; instead, I discovered that it’s one of the most powerful tools we have for connection and healing. Sharing my story—whether it’s about trauma, healing, or my journey toward empowerment—has fostered a sense of community and trust with those around me.
Now, I embrace vulnerability as a strength. It enables me to create deeper relationships, cultivate empathy, and empower others to share their own stories. This lesson has profoundly influenced my work and the way I lead at Sacred Celestial, as I encourage my clients to embrace their own vulnerabilities and transform them into sources of power.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
One of the most defining moments of my resilience came during my recovery from brain surgery. The journey was not just a physical one; it was an emotional and spiritual awakening that tested my limits in ways I never expected. After the surgery, I found myself grappling with not only the physical pain and limitations but also the weight of fear and uncertainty about my future.
In those early days, I often felt isolated, overwhelmed by the challenges I faced. But as I lay in recovery, I had an epiphany: I could either succumb to despair or use this experience as a catalyst for growth. Drawing from my background in wellness and healing, I began to incorporate daily practices into my routine—meditation, breathwork, and sound healing became my lifelines. Each session allowed me to connect with my body and spirit in profound ways, fostering a sense of empowerment amidst the chaos.
As I began to heal, I realized that my experience could serve a greater purpose. I started sharing my journey with others, encouraging them to embrace their vulnerabilities and use their struggles as a pathway to strength. This shift in perspective not only accelerated my healing but also ignited a passion within me to help others navigate their own challenges.
Through this experience, I learned that resilience is not the absence of difficulty but rather the ability to rise, adapt, and transform in the face of adversity. This lesson has become a cornerstone of my work at Sacred Celestial, where I empower others to reclaim their narratives and embrace their journeys toward healing and liberation.
