Phoenix , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
There comes a time in life when you have to take bold risks and not be afraid to go off the beaten path. I’m a recording artist and yet behind closed doors for years I’ve studied, expanded my mindset and healed myself and community through wellness. Often you hear that you have to pick a lane and stay there, but I’ve never wanted to live inside of a box.
I recently decided to step forward and re-introduce myself not just an artist/award winning performer or psychologist/ wellness expert but as both.
I really have some powerful things to convey as it relates to mental health, women’s wellness and culture shifting along with great music that’ll be dropping soon. I’m excited to take new risks & walk the path of presenting me in my wholeness, as performer and thought leader.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I’m an award winning performer & recording artist. My music is rooted in jazz but it’s morphed into a sound I like to call “pop soul”. Solid instrumentation, good energy and affirmative lyrics with impeccable sound quality. Just great music to dance and heal to. And I’ll be dropping new music in late summer/fall 2022.
Healing is a major part of my life journey and while traveling and existing in high stress and unhealthy environments, I’ve had to navigate my own wellness and mental health along with assist others.
I’m currently working with high achieving creative women to assist them in healing, connecting more deeply to their spirituality and intuition and leveling up from the inside out. July will be the launch of two programs and a series of masterclasses for those ready to invite in mental and emotional freedom.
I’m most proud of my ability to walk in my own calling. There has been some resistance from within me, I’ll be honest. It’s been a journey of rediscovery.
But when you’re on a divine path…you receive nuggets that confirm you’re doing something right. I’m proud of the work that I’m doing, the music I’m creating that I see people dancing to and the advancements the women I work with are creating in their own lives.
It all really blows me away and I’m immensely grateful.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Right now I’m committed to spreading the frequency of love. In my music, I want couples swaying and two stepping. And on the wellness and education path, I want women loving themselves fully so their cups overflow and they’re capable of truly loving and supporting those around them.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn that I needed to look outside of myself for anything. Growing up, I felt as though I needed this person and that thing to make my dreams a reality. Societally, we’re taught to search for resources, relationships and opportunities. The keyword is “search”.
And please don’t get me wrong…we need people, yes. And we must do the work for sure.
However, the more I deeply connect with myself, my inner guidance and self belief, the more the resources, relationships and opportunities just show up. I “attract” those things and people that are aligned for me.
I’m learning that searching has left me operating from a space of not having and choosing what hasn’t been good for me.
The truth is that when I feel myself beginning to search, I need to find quiet space and time and reconnect with the truth of my inner knowing.
