Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Phoenix Lord. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Phoenix, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Are you happier as a creative? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job? Can you talk to us about how you think through these emotions?
Yes, I’m happy as an artist. I wouldn’t do anything else in the world. Having a normal job wouldn’t feed me the way music does. I feel free and connected to my life mission when I create my songs.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I got my first guitar when I was 11 years old. I played music every day. I was listening to a lot of rock and metal at that time. I had a band with which I did a few shows. Then I discovered the Cubase production software that I use today and, as I learned how electronic music was created, I started listening to it and creating my own tracks. I used to do this for fun in the basement at my parents’ house. I became friend with my manager and played him one of my songs and he was so touched by the intensity of my music that he offered me to release my music on his label La Chapelle Records. So I started doing remixes and remakes like “Fascinated” and “A Deeper Love” with the legendary Carol Jiani in addition to my first album “The Mass of Phoenix”. I also became a DJ with my show “Rise Like Phoenix” now broadcast on Unicity Radio (www.unicite.ca) on Fridays at 9pm (ET). Then I created a second show with a more spiritual theme “House of Lord” broadcast on Mix93FM in Los Angeles on Sundays at 1pm (ET). What I’m most proud of is my song “I Believe” in collaboration with the icon Robin S, known for her big worldwide hit “Show Me Love”. It’s a message to believe in yourself and that anything is possible if you have faith. What differentiates me in my art is really the spiritual aspect related to rebirth like the Phoenix. We can always choose to become a better version of ourselves in order to live in a better world. I’ve always believed that we’re in the midst of a global renaissance and my goal is to convey that message through my music. To put light where there is shadow, to take the negative, the ashes, and burn them in order to bring out the positive. If every person does this in their life, we will all live in a better world.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I believe that the purpose of life is to always improve. and therefore create a better world. My goal is to convey this message through my music, even if some of my songs are instrumental. The energy that comes out of my music is designed to raise the vibrational rates lower. It often starts lower, and towards the end you feel that you are rising.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I have the opportunity to change things in this world that I am with and I learn not to depend on what is outside of my own power. What I create is a part of me and I find it rewarding.
