We were lucky to catch up with Phillip Young recently and have shared our conversation below.
Phillip, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
January 1, 2016 the idea resonated of wanting to pursue becoming a business owner. However, in the very moment I didn’t know what it would be. After several months of praying and fasting asking God to show me my passion & gifts “he did just that”. On July 22, 2016 it came to past & was made official I started my Event Planning & Designing company. Honestly, in that very moment I didn’t trust how anointed & gifted my hands were, I just trusted and believed that God would guide me every step of the way. I knew this would be a worthwhile endeavor because I have God in the center, and I knew he would blow my mind. Logically speaking I have always had a business mindset, and I knew if I fully applied & invested in myself that my vision of being a one stop event planning & designing company that provides exceptional customer service would flourish beyond my expectations. Two weeks into business I received my first client, that simply trusted my vision and gave me chance I’ll forever be grateful for you LaQuita. After applying myself, I set the bar high for this event & business has only elevated since then.

My name is Phillip J. Young, Owner of Chasing Perfection Event Planning & Design, LLC. Chasing Perfection was established on July 22, 2016. I started this business with the desired & vision to provide extraordinary event planning & designing services. Our goal is to uniquely design each event catered around our clients’ visions, while also adding a Chasing Perfection touch. Being able to design freely & stay in our own lane is what sets us apart. I am most proud of simply humbling myself & allowing God to guide me to connect with many amazing staff members, clients, & vendors that have been an amazing attribute to Chasing Perfection.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Our amazing clients’ & social media has been a tremendous asset to the flourishing of Chasing Perfection.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Staying consistent, professionalism, exceptional customer service, & being entrusted fully to design freely.
