We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Philip Henn a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Philip, appreciate you joining us today. Showing clients you appreciate them is something I think most folks want to do – but it’s not always clear how to do it in a meaningful way. What’s one of the best examples of client appreciation you can share with us?
I always make it a priority with all of my real estate clients in maintaining a personal relationship and friendship with them. I believe in always being a resource for my clients for when and if they need any real estate services. I like to form friendships and also concentrate on being a local community resource as well as a real estate advisor.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a Licensed Real Estate Broker & REALTOR with REVINRE in North Scottsdale since 2020. I have been a Residential Real Estate Broker for over 22 years. I started my real estate careere in NYC, where I am born and raised, with The Corcoran Group working in Manhattan, Brooklyn & Queens.
My service areas are in the greater Phoenix, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Carefree, Cave Creek and the surrounding towns of Maricopa County including Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Tempe, Peoria, Glendale, Anthem, New River, Goodyear, Surprise, Buckeye and Avondale.
I work closely with home sellers, buyers, investors and developers here in the greater Phoenix, Scottsdale and surrounding areas of Maricopa County.
For my home sellers I provide everything from proper pricing in the current market, advising and preparing the property for market, professional video, drone footage, photography, floor plans and marketing materials. Online and Social Media is critical for my marketing campaign to position the property to the most buyers and real estate agents.
For my home buyers it is all about education whether they are local or coming form out of state. I like to meet with my buyer clients to listen to their needs, concerns and answer any questions they may have before preparing them to start seeing properties. I believe being a local real estate expert in the areas I live and service help guide my clients in learning about the different towns, neighborhoods and different locations in the Valley.
For my investor clients I provide valuable opportunities based on their needs and wants. From land sales to commercial opportunities to distressed properties I can find the solution to fit their budget.
For my developers I provide new construction marketing and sales. I have worked on many new development projects producing top results with best in class service.
I like to spend most of my personal time golfing, hiking or traveling. My wife, Lauren and I live in Carefree and love spending time here and in Cave Creek. I volunteer for local groups and organazations here in our town with pride.
Have you ever had to pivot?
After being a Real Estate Broker for over 20 years in NYC with the Corcoran Group and living there my whole life, I decided to move to Carefree after the Covid Pandemic in 2020. It was a big time life decision and one I am very fortunate to have made. Living in Arizona is so different than living in NYC. I enjoy the outdoor lifestyle, great weather, natural beauty and all that Arizona has to offer.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
I learned very early in my career from a mentor who told me to always turn your clients into friends and neighbors. This valuable piece of advice has always been with me and has been the main reason for growing my business. My clients appreciate the true value of me not only being a real estate expert but a friend, local resource and neighbor.
