We were lucky to catch up with Philia Kelnhofer recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Philia, thanks for joining us today. So, let’s imagine that you were advising someone who wanted to start something similar to you and they asked you what you would do differently in the startup-process knowing what you know now. How would you respond?
Something I’d do different is start social media platforms sooner. Seemingly with every one I’ve been behind. I worked a regular 9-5 job when I started my food blog and people got on Pinterest and Facebook early and I wasn’t even on them until it was seemingly too late.
Philia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m Philia, or as most people know me, Phi – pronounced like “Fee.” I’m the founder of SweetPhi.com, a destination for fast & easy recipes (that don’t have mile-long ingredient lists, and that your kids will actually eat), family life, motherhood, tips and tricks and inspiration. I specialize in easy to make recipes for busy people.
I’m also a 2x cookbook author, recipe developer and photographer. I live in Milwaukee, WI with my husband and our four kids (I have an older son 7, boy/girl twins 5 and a baby boy 2!)
I founded Sweetphi.com in 2011! Sweetphi.com has become a destination for easy recipes, showcasing beautiful content and inspiration, everyday family life, motherhood, and fun finds from around the web.
I’m particularly proud of authoring and photographing two cookbooks, as well as consistently publishing my weekly newsletter called ‘Here’s To The Weekend’ on Substack (https://sweetphi.substack.com/)
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I keep in touch with readers and foster brand loyalty via my weekly newsletter called Here’s To The Weekend (https://sweetphi.substack.com/) – in the newsletter I share wonderful seasonal recipes, fun finds from around the web, and a glimpse into family life
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
This book is a little older, but wow is it powerful, it’s called Write It Down, Make It Happen by Henriette Anne Klauser. I first got the book as an audio book and loved it so much I bought the hard cover copy. I read it every six months to give myself a refresher. It gives you actionable ways to make your goals become a reality.
