Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Phil Gallo. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Phil thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
At the time I was living in Santa Monica, CA. working as a personal training, with a focus on fat loss, strength and endurance. When I was approached by the Tai Chi instructor teaching at the same gym. While with a client, he approached me and said; “I’ve seen you with your clients, and I like your work ethic. He asked if I ‘d be interested in working with him at his office. When I met with him not really knowing or understanding what he did, he had me sit at his desk, read through some herbal books, read the particular herbs that were on a prescription pad. A patient came in and he began performing acupuncture on her, while she rested he gave me the dosages for the formula he wanted me to create. Then mix it all together, the put that into capsules for her to take.
I was so fascinated and blown away at what had just happened I asked where I could learn more, he pointed me in the direction of some Traditional Chines medicine (TCM) schools in the LA, Santa Monica area and the rest is history.
Earning a 4 year Masters in Acupuncture and TCM. Opportunities are all around us. It’s up to us to recognize them and do with it what you want. Take it or leave it. “Be where your feet are and enjoy the moment.” Because that moment can disappear in an instant.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

The main focus is not only neuromusculoskeletal conditions, pain management, injury prevention, but incorporating fitness programs for sustained longevity. Nutrition, cosmetic acupuncture and micro-needling to rejuvenate skin naturally and slow the aging process. “See the mission is to not only to reduce pain, but improve athletic performance, help clients remain active, and look and feel their healthiest.”

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
One thing that helps is that I operate from the belief that success is achieved by performing the fundamentals at a high level..
Time and time again sticking to the basics and not searching for the next flashy method, just the meat and potatoes that work.. I use methods that are sustainable, methods for success, and present positive outcomes for my clients and patients. It comes down to the results achieved over, and over again. I am dedicated to my my craft, and when results happen, the word gets out.

If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
I would 100% choose the same profession. When I look back at my youth, in elementary school, we had our science project. Mine was on the “pulley system.” Not really knowing why? But, that’s when it all began as a personal trainer. It wasn’t until I became a trainer following college, moving to Los Angeles, years later in 1993 from San Diego, that I realized health and fitness is my calling. The rest, as they say, is history.
