We recently connected with Phelisha Munson and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Phelisha thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?

I was in the shower one day talking, well, shouting my ideas, to my husband while I was in the shower. I ran the idea of my company name one night. That name popped up, and I just couldn’t shake it. My business name is my mission. “Dimensional Hues Korey, that’s the name!” I remember saying to my husband. We are all connected in this world. We all have aspirations. We all are the same in some way regardless of what we go by racially & ethnically. Together we are one. I thought that to myself days later after discussing the name with my husband. I was sitting in the living room, about to sit on the patio to meditate, and I kept thinking about how much I wanted to help people. I want to help people spiritually and mentally the most. That’s who I AM. I am in the business of changing lives for the better. I have a degree in psychology, and I have always loved mental health. I combine tools/tips on how to aid in a better lifestyle holistically while catering to your mental health. My mission is to help as many people as possible, making an impact. Everything happens in the divine order.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I got into this industry based on what I’ve always loved. They say when you love something, it’s not working. I have always been interested in stones, meditation, chakras, yoga, herbs, and other holistic health items. I have been in this practice for over five years. For mental health, I’ve been secretary for the Student Psychological Association at Texas Southern University since this year in 2022, before graduating. Still, I have been with the child advocates of Houston and practicing mental health daily. Combining mental health with holistic health is my specialty. In my shop, I provide handmade chakra candles (candles that are very fragrant with stones that help a designated chakra), crystals/stones, natural beeswax tea-light candles, and holistic items. What sets me apart from others is my passion. My passion is to help others. My products are 100% natural, and my candles are handmade with soy which does not harm the atmosphere. Mental health & holistic health go hand in hand. Dimensional Hues are like budding flowers. I get to see the growth & opening of my flower as time goes on. I am proud of myself because being a business owner is not easy. I have experienced every emotion: the late nights, the breakdowns, doubt, fear, and more. I am pleased to break barriers of how mental health and holistic health can coexist. Catering to your mind, body, body, & soul is priceless when you achieve growth and peace. This industry is challenging with all the “fads” that have come out. Overall this experience is advantageous. I want potential fans/followers/customers to know all these tools are to help you in the best way towards your success. I encourage you to keep finding your way on your journey. Be kind to yourself as you continue to learn.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

I’ve had to shift with my rebranding. I felt that my mission and story were not coming across. Every detail has been combed over to give everyone as much of myself as possible—rebranding how-to videos, expanding on stones, & more soothing esthetics.

Can you talk to us about how you funded your business?

Putting my business together was not accessible in the slightest way. I funded my business out of my pocket; I still support my business out of my pocket. I have had a couple of “breaks” due to having children. When I was pregnant with both children, I became very ill, a condition called Hyperemesis Grendovia. It can be very detrimental to you, the baby, or both. I have had to regroup as I took time off my business. In that time of solitude, I started rebranding and have been funding my business since I started in 2019.
