Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Phaze Wun. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Phaze , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.

Every project is meaningful to me for different reasons. Since I began making music around age 13, I taught myself how to record, produce, engineer, etc … putting together full projects at an early age up until today still self producing myself and others. I supposed, to date, my “Misery Love Company” album is the most meaningful. Being that it was my most introspective and personal album where I feel I really came into my own as an artist during the making.

Phaze , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I have always loved music. When my brother an I were kids we used to do our own pretend radio shows and make our own “top 10” lists of the songs we liked at the time. By my teens I had started writing and producing our high school group. Deciding to then further my education in the craft I graduated from Full Sail University, Orlando FL with my first production credit on the ODB of Wu-Tang fame, group Brooklyn Zu album ‘Chamber 9, Verse 32’ Tracks “Blood is Love” and “Cold World” released in 2009. Since then working with notable artists such as Shabaam Sahdeeq, Head ICE, and 10+ independent releases for local acts such as Atown Slim, and Devin Hailey. What I think sets me apart from others is my unique creative vision for my artists from the artwork, video, marketing, production and esthetic, is all in house. I am basically a one stop shop record label, a&r, in one person, just without funding.
