We were lucky to catch up with Pharao Tyeric recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Pharao thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Are you able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen?

Warning , becoming a creative is not for the weak! In all honesty, it requires a great deal of sacrifice and commitment to earn a full time living from creative works. I have not quite made that transition to financial freedom as an artist. That’s the main mission, being able to have all of my bills paid from the earnings of my creative works! I’m close, I’ve monetized my musical catalog and I see profit from my photography career. To sped up the process I suggest that you work together with other creatives! I myself took the role as Editor In Chief at @FameLiveMagazine which has put me in a certain spotlight with my targeted audience. I also enjoy helping other creatives win so the work fulfills many purposes!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

In the beginning of my career I was on the management side of music, I never thought I would release music, pick up a camera, or do graphic designs. In time I grew impatient when I saw opportunities that people around me were afraid to take advantage of, that’s when I started creating. I couldn’t afford to pay other creatives at the time so I started practicing creating for myself. Apps were my best friend, in no time I became a phenomenal video editor and graphic designer (at least in my head)

Now I’m a published Photographer and Editor In Chief of a magazine geared to supporting Independent Creatives. I also have a film that’s out where I’m credited as the Director of Photography. I have music videos that I’ve shot with talents from coast to coast and my Debut Album was released earlier this year! “Love is War” a 12 track hip hop album that I’m very proud of!

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

Lighting that fire within someone, helping someone find that passion and giving them resources to fuel their passion.
