We recently connected with Peyton Scott and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Peyton, thanks for joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I believe success is something you have to work for. It will not be handed to you and certainly will not wait for you. I used to think everyone could obtain success over night but that’s simply not the case. Some work for years and don’t see any progress with their goals because they are in a rush to accomplish everything. You are put through trials before you reach true success. I am still in the era of learning and gaining the knowledge to reach success. I am not rushing the process because I know God has my future set for me.
Peyton, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hi! My name is Peyton Scott and I am the business owner of ShotsbyPey. I can be found on Facebook and Instagram! I mainly do portrait photography but I am willing to dip into other forms of photography as well. I started my business after I realized how much I liked to capture moments for people. I started with doing self-portraits and decided to venture out and try to take pictures of others. I started to love it as I grew to be better and better. I think what sets me apart from other photographers is that I value my client over anything else. Most who work with me rave about how comfortable I make them and the professional manner I always have. Also, my business is not surrounded around money. I genuinely enjoy doing what I do. I don’t believe in giving you photos you’re not absolutely in love with. I am grateful for every person who has worked with me and wish they want to come back!
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I believe the most rewarding aspect of being an artist is the diversity and range you are open to. There will never be boredom or moments where you feel like you don’t love your job. This is because when you have a creative mindset you never run out of ideas. You have the ability to be inspired by anything especially when you’re surrounded by other artists. I love the idea that I am never sheltered from branching out with other creative ideas. Photography allows for a wide range in doing pretty much any ideas you have. Photography also allows for everyone to put their own style of how they want photos to be perceived. You can create your own signature copy of photography.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I main goal is to influence and help others. To influence family, friends, and the people who wish to be a photographer one day. I wish to open my own photo studio one day and help younger photographers. In this generation the idea of “helping” others is no longer something people do. When I get the blessing of becoming a very known photographer and reach success I see no reason why I shouldn’t help others. You never know how far helping someone can push them towards their goals.
