Petra, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Getting that first client is always an exciting milestone. Can you talk to us about how you got your first customer who wasn’t a friend, family, or acquaintance?

My first client contacted me through social media making some inquiries about my services. I was very excited to have my first client when she contacted me, I told her I had a promotion going on. She booked a makeup session with me to style her for a family event she had. Until this day, she remains a frequent client for every special event she has and has recommended my services to her family and close friends.

Petra Loza is a proud Hispanic-certified Makeup Artist. Trained in traditional and airbrush makeup for beauty, bridal, fashion, film/tv, and print. Her Mexican heritage makes her very passionate about her makeup artistry and it shows in all of her work and client interactions. She always strives to keep acquiring knowledge is the latest trends to gain professional artistry training as well as updating her kit with professional products. Her joyful personality and professionalism make her respect her client’s time and make the makeup application a positive, exciting experience at Petty’s Beauty Makeup!

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

In one of the hardest seasons of my life, trying to give my children better opportunities in life as a single mother in a foreign country, I worked for years 7 days a week non-stop. Trying to balance my life as a mom and running my business was not easy at all but I always had my focused on my goal of finishing my training to become a Professional Makeup Artist, start my own business, and do what I love.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

Really listening to what each of my clients is looking for when they book one of my services has been very helpful, along with respect, work ethic and formality had helped me provide an excellent service to all my clients always living them with a smile on their faces when they see the final result. This has given me the opportunity to have a good reputation in the industry and receive more clients recommended by my regular clients.
