Petra , appreciate you joining us today. Getting that first client is always an exciting milestone. Can you talk to us about how you got your first customer who wasn’t a friend, family, or acquaintance?
My first time actually taking a client was many many year ago I want to say back in 2018 . I was super nervous because I never worked on anyone besides myself or my friends . I use to do makeup transformations on myself all the time and uploaded them to my instagram account. It was around prom season for middle school in my home town, so I uploaded a flyer on social media and said I would be taking five clients for a full makeup and eyelash glam for twenty five dollars. I honestly thought I would get NOBODY AT ALL . But God had other plans for me and them five spots that I had available had got booked less then one hour of posting . I was truly blessed and knew this was my calling that God has blessed me with such an amazing gift .

Petra , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I got into this industry by playing dress up all my life. At a young age I also was always entered into beauty pageants . As I continued to get older, my love for beauty and fashion grew more and more. Back in high school, I started doing my friends’ makeup for football and basketball games since they were cheerleaders and dance girls. My business started in 2018 when I started taking makeup clients and that’s how I grew into expanding my business with selling eyelashes and shades . My business was expanding I was happy . I came up with many names but no names fits like “Kulture Beauty By Alejandra “ ! This brand is my life I have put my blood , sweat ,& tears in this business! The world will know my name and my face .

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele is definitely showing them how raw and creative I am . I put love into my work! I just don’t like my work I absolutely LOVE WHAT I DO . I try to show my clients and my social media followers that they will never be disappointed with my business. My biggest strategy is be consistent, post content be engage with your audiences . I’m currently loving TikTok. I’m trying to grow and expand on all platforms.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I had to learn is “everyone don’t have to support you everyone don’t have to like your work “ this was very hard for me to understand at the moment I started when I was about seventeen years old. I had family and friends who still have never supported me at all and that’s okay with me now because I know for a fact God will not fail me. It’s not bad to be told “no”. Actually we all need to be told no so we can go ten times harder . I just pray that God continue to do his big one on me .
