We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Peter VanWolvelaerd. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Peter below.
Alright, Peter thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start big picture – what are some of biggest trends you are seeing in your industry?
We are an installer of ADA mobility products….how the consumer is trying to “age in place” Also we do PM service (preventive maintenance and what the “right to repair” movement promotes on working on customer owned units that are out of warrenty.
Peter, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a business owner and disabled veteran……I have a profitable business but most of all I want to do good. Everytime we supply an ADA product we change the lives for the better of both the end user and the caretaker.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Always be selling……I make a difference and doing good is its own reward
Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
We were originally a construct company……along with General construction we started to install ceiling lifts at VA hospitals. Doing construction was profitable but I got most of my personal satisfaction from installing ceiling lifts and seeing how they reduced the burden of lifts patients from there beds to the bathroom and how the nursing staff were able to bring more dignity to the process of transferring patients. From that moment we morphed into more ADA type of products…..pool lifts, stairlifts, automatic door openers…….we changed lives and gave freedom and opened opportunities for all.
