Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Peter Alexander. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Peter, appreciate you joining us today. We love heartwarming stories – do you have a heartwarming story from your career to share?
I had a patient come in who had significant low back pain intermittently for over 10 years. This individual had been seen by other therapists over the past 10 years. Some of whom he saw were chiropractors, physical therapists, and personal trainers. When the patient walked in the door it was his last stop before going to consult an ortho about possibly looking into low back surgery. He could barely stand up straight as he walked into his appointment. He knew that we offered a more comprehensive service as he was referred by his nephew who was a patient for about 2 months.
Upon his first history and examination it was clear that the previous treatment protocols were relevant to his case, but they were not addressing the root cause of his problem. So he would get out of pain temporarily but spiral back into a downfall. We were able to develop an appropriate treatment plan that seemed unconventional but after the success we had with his nephew he was on board.
After the first treatment the patient was able to stand straight up when he got off the table. He immediately teared up from joy, but tried to hold it in as he was a stoic. Since then he’s learned the tools and practices to keep himself moving so he can continue to do what he loves. That was a really defining moment when I knew I was in the right field and doing the right things.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m a rehab chiropractor. I worked at a physical therapy clinic before starting school, as well as, a martial arts gym. Working and training in various martial arts also gave me the myriad of injuries that came with it. This gave me a unique perspective into the chiropractic world because I’ve had the majority of injuries that walk into my door. This lets me help create lifelong results for my patients.
When we see a patient, we go through a comprehensive history, functional tests, and movement analysis to generate an individualized treatment plan. Our appointments are on an individual basis and longer format than typical chiropractic visits. This allows us to move at an appropriate pace while not missing any critical details. We pride ourself in our results with patients so we make sure to offer the highest quality care. This is from
We are athletes and active individuals at Hybrid so we know how important it is to keep you moving. Whether that’s a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tournament, or being able to play with your kids. This is why we take the time to create individual results.
If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
I would definitely choose the same profession. This profession has given me the unique ability to be the top notch person for not only rehab chiropractic but also optimizing sports performance.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Getting out in front of people. Especially in my industry it’s immensely important to be out and talking to prospective patients. This gives them an insight into my personality and what we’re about.
