We recently connected with Peter Agu and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Peter, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
The skills I have today are a result of self belief and determination. I learned the art of music production on my own because I didn’t have enough finance to register for a music production course. So, I pulled myself by the bootstraps and forged ahead.
I didn’t try to doubt myself in any way, I just believed in the nearest progress possible and that’s how I kept moving step by step on my own and with the help of professionals on YouTube I got somewhere with the skills.
However, I wouldn’t call myself a pro but I’ll say I am an intermediately skilled producer, doing it like a pro and if I have the opportunity I’ll still sign up for a music production course to increase my knowledge and skills in this profession.
Peter, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
If you haven’t met me before, well, here’s your chance.
I’m a rapper, a singer, a songwriter, a beat maker, and a mixing and mastering engineer. In summary, I’m a musician and a record producer and that’s my main focus.
I am a February born(Aquarius), yeah that’s my energy. I am a simple minded person, I don’t like trouble, I just mind my business and give my attention when needed, if needed.
I love basketball, video gaming and watching movies and I also love sightseeing, these are my favorite recreational activities.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Being a musical artist has opened my mind, soul and body to many experiences, thoughts and actions that I wouldn’t do if it wasn’t for music.
It has bred this strong positivity inside of me that has made me see things in a different light.
For me, it’s like a realm where anything is possible. It’s like a utopia for me.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Yes, there is a mission behind my creative journey and the mission is for me to have a voice, and that’s not all.
I want to be successful and knowledgeable enough in my profession, so that I can impact on other people in a positive way.
I also want to establish my freedom as a successful artist.
