Pedro , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I had the idea of being a painter when I was 8 years old, and eventually I decided to do it professionally, studying at the School of Fine Arts for 6 years, from which I won an award when I graduated.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Well, since I graduated from the School of Fine Arts, I had the opportunity to be represented by different art galleries in the area where I lived in Peru, from there I was selected to represent the Valparaíso Chile art biennial and later represented Peru in 19 countries both in Europe and Central America and Asia characterizes me in my painting for being an artist within abstract surrealism and the concept that I embodied in my works plus the union of technical waste that I have that are professional secrets that through the years I have Being able to create and polish has given me the personality that my work has and that sets me apart from other artists. there I send you my website www.pedrofuertes.com
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, the most gratifying aspect is leaving a cultural presence with many contributions to Latin American art and being recognized while alive and not admired after death.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I believe that the most important objective in the life of an artist who does not need great delicacies to survive alone We try to fulfill the saying of selling to paint and not painting to sell. That is why we formed a group of Latin American artists with the name of Contrapunto, where there are well-known artists singing from Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Nicaragua and Mexico, where we have been working together for several years.
