We recently connected with Pearl Roziers and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Pearl thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
We hear at an early age that “life is not fair”, so we must learn to accept what it gives. While yes, this statement is true, which one of us would like to volunteer to be the person that is on the receiving line of life’s unfairness? Certainly, no one will volunteer. But when (not if) it hits, how can we shift to give life a new purpose, a new mission?
A major shift in my life occurred on December 1, 2015, when my “IT” in life happened. You know, the thing that we say, “I” don’t know what I would do if “IT” happened”. “ITs” are different for everyone and are no respecter of person, gender, race, or financial status . “ITs” simply don’t care, and are totally unfair.
My “IT” was the death of my only child. If I was going to survive in this unfair world and triumph over this loss, I had to create a new mission. I had to restructure my life, learn how to continue living, and frankly, learn what living really meant. Thus, the story behind my new mission came from pain.
Named in honor of my late son, The Mitch22 Foundation, INC. has become the driving force for who I am today.
Through this not-for-profit organization, we strive to help others live a meaningful life with a smile, despite obstacles and hardships-one family and one child at a time. With support of donors and hard work, the Mitch22 Foundation continually supports high school and college students with scholarships, provide luncheons and workshops for mothers that have lost children, and provide school supplies for ALL students at one underprivileged, underrepresented Title I school in Jacksonville, Florida.

Pearl, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
As stated previously, my walk into a new mission came from pain. I was doing well in my education profession as an Assistant Superintendent for one of the largest school districts in the State of Florida, and considered an “Education Influencer”. Once my son passed, none of that mattered. What was my life really worth? Did I really matter? His death was personal so my survival became personal.
To start, my goal was to make sure I poured into other mothers. I knew my pain, and if I could help another mother while she was going through the grieving process, I felt obligated to help. So, I started by pinning my story. In my first book, FACE IT: Life’s A Journey, I chronicled my journey from hearing the news of his death, to finally learning to live without him by keeping his legacy alive. It became the anthem that I wanted for other mothers. Within 24 hours of being released, it was listed as a best seller, and continues to sell today.
The next product/service came on Mother’s Day, 2018. The official launch of Pearls For Pearls was revealed. Pearls For Pearls is the official product brand of the Foundation. Using the color scheme pink, black, and white, we provide mothers that have lost children with Self-Care Pamper Packs, Pearl jewelry, and Pearl accessories.
As I sought additional support for mothers, I became passionately aware of the need for knowledgeable Empowerment Coaches. To combat this need, I positioned myself to become an Internationally Certified Women’s Empowerment Coach.
With training from The Professional Woman Network, Inc., I am certified to facilitate women’s luncheons, coordinate empowerment sessions, and train others aspiring to become Empowerment Coaches. The Mitch22 Foundation, Inc. facilitates three Coaching Academies each year.
As a national speaker and trainer, I realized women were facing many “ITs” in life. Loss and grief were just two of the many. Again, seeing a need, I created a Vision Planning Course to assist women with knowing how to Imagine, Plan and Execute GOD’s vision for their lives. My second book, Women of Bravery, Balancing the Scales of Life, Love and Liberation, became the curriculum for the Mitch22 Coaching Academies. This Anthology features twelve women who have experienced the “ITs” of life and were willing to tell their stories to help others.
When being asked about my proudest moments, I must confess there are many. To see hundreds of mothers attending a Pearls For Pearls Luncheon, seeing former Coaching Academy graduates hosting empowerment sessions, and seeing women simply saying thank you because you changed their lives, gives me nothing by pride. My motto is simple, Sisters helping Sisters is what I do. And that alone, makes me proud.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
To grow your clientele, you must know who are you striving to help. One of the first questions I had to answer when writing my book was, who is my audience? Who was I writing my book for?
If you don’t know your who, you are doomed to fail. When you know your who, you are destined to receive your desired outcome. Some tips to consider for clientele.
1. After you know your who, study them. Research them.
2. What are their likes? Their dislikes?
3. What are their desires for your product?
4. Why would they want to select you over another company?
5. What will you offer them that is different from other companies?

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A lesson to follow is NEVER MAKE DECISONS BASED ON EMOTIONS. Emotions change and are often not reliable for business decisions. Make strategic decisions that have been researched, discussed and proven to support the vision and mission of your company.
When building a home, carpenters are taught to measure twice, three times, before they make one cut. Imagine the business that takes emotions out of the picture and measures twice, three times, before they decided to act.
