Pearis, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?

Everyone says they have the best parents in the world; in my case it’s actually true. My parents have done everything right. They have loved me more than any daughter has ever been loved, anchored me to my faith in God, illustrated kindness, compassion, determination, dedication, and poured all of their efforts and financial ability into my education. My parents have stood back to watch me grow personally and professionally, always celebrating my accomplishments, no matter how small. When I expressed my interest in pursuing a career in the beauty industry, they immediately helped me research the best school to receive training. After I obtained all of my licensing and brought up the idea of owning my own business, they stood by me still. Through all my growth and challenges, my parents have chosen to stay by my side, always ready to catch me if I fall. I think the main thing my parents have done right is choosing to believe that their daughter will always make the right decisions, based on the concrete virtues and characteristics they have instilled in me. It is that same loyalty and determination that inspires me. I am inspired by them to face new challenges, test the odds, chase my dreams, and go above and beyond. I will grow as a woman, esthetician, business owner, and one day as a mother because of everything my parents chose to do right.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

When I was in high school, I experienced my first major breakout. My skin had never acted up before. My mom immediately took me to the dermatologist, who put me on a medication called Accutane. I had horrible side effects and felt sick every day. I took myself off of the medication, researched how to cure my acne with a skincare routine, and I did it. I did it all by myself; it was the best feeling in the world. I went from feeling so insecure to being proud of my skin. Today, I feel proud to help other women feel the same. I believe that radiance starts within; the more confident you feel on the inside, the more visible it is on the outside. At Pearis Eller Aesthetics, I provide ethically safe and effective skincare plans and treatments, curated for each and every client. My specialty is anti-aging, but I am well-versed in many conditions including, but not limited to, acne, rosacea, hyperpigmentation, scarring, texture, melasma, and chronic dryness. I take pride in carefully selecting the products I carry in my treatment room. All of my back bar, and products available to my clients, are professional grade. My most popular services are my facials; my clients absolutely love the results and the time dedicated to self care. With almost 5 years of experience in this industry, and services catering to a variety of budgets, I am thrilled to help women of all ages, backgrounds, and ethnicities experience the best skin of their lives. In addition to skincare, I also provide full body hair removal via sugaring. This is a 100% natural process. The ingredients are sugar, water, and lemon. It is safe for all skin types, including sensitive skin.

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?

Other than training and knowledge, the ability empathize with others is essential for success in the beauty industry. It’s imperative to recognize another person’s feelings, experiences, and emotions which may differ from my own. It’s my responsibility to help them feel comfortable in their own skin.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start?

I saved my earnings from various esthetic and receptionist positions I held after graduating from esthetician school. I used the money to purchase the equipment I needed to start my mobile esthetic business and added new equipment when I could afford it. With hard work and lots of in-home treatments, I saved enough money to rent my first space, have my logo designed, and my website created!
