We recently connected with Peace Ransom and have shared our conversation below.
Peace, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
My biggest risk was selling all of my possessions and buying a one-way ticket to Las Vegas. I have learned that to achieve anything great, you must leave your comfort zone. I was comfortable in my hometown but I wanted more for my life and to expand my business. I did not have a home, a job, or anything set up but my soul was being called to move to Las Vegas and so I listened.
Taking this risk has brought me the most amazing rewards. My life and business have blossomed in ways that I never thought was possible.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My company, Peace with Peace, is here to help those suffering from chronic stress, anxiety, and trauma and also those who are at the End-of-Life. I offer Sound Healing, Yoga, and Death Doula services.
I am a survivor of over 30 years of trauma and have been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder. The tools that I provide to my clients are the same tools that helped to heal me from my anxiety disorder and past trauma. It is always an honor to play a small piece on someone’s healing journey.
I also have been called to serve those that are at the End-of-Life. My services are offered donation-based to help me serve as many families as possible. An End-of-Life Doula provides holistic services to the dying to help make the transition less scary and more peaceful and beautiful. I am very proud to be able to serve the community in this way.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
Other than training, I feel that experience is most helpful. One cannot guide another through the process of dying if you have never experienced it and don’t know what death looks like. As a Sound Healer, the more that I play for others, the better I get.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I used to live and operate my business in Columbus, Ohio. My business as a Sex Therapist was not thriving and neither was I. I was very miserable in my hometown and I knew I had to make a change for my mental health and my career. My heart was not in teaching sex education and I wanted to do more to be of service to the world. Knowing that it was time for a change, I listened to my intuition and moved to Las Vegas. Moving has been the best thing that I could’ve done for my life and for my children’s lives.
