We were lucky to catch up with Payal Doshi recently and have shared our conversation below.
Payal, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with something countless entrepreneurs have had to figure out on the fly – how have you dealt with the rise of remote work?
When I came on board it was a breath of fresh air to understand that the company I work for gets it. After the pandemic so much in our society changed and one major component of that was how we work. No longer did we need to be confined to our desks and be restricted to the confines of an office. Remote work gave us the flexibility to run errands and be with our kids but also prioritize the work. This is how the company I work for achieved work-life balance. The key is trust. If the trust isn’t there then that is what leads to the challenges we experience. Sure, a challenge is the lack of interaction for collaboration with your colleagues in person but there are workarounds for that. The biggest benefit is having the ability to be around your family and take breaks to help them out with whatever they might be doing.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Payal Doshi and I’m a Senior Marketing professional who has been in the industry primarily in sports for about 20 years. I began my career in television as an on-air host for a diverse magazine show. From there I discovered the digital space where I was captivated by the various ways I could use my platform to connect and help those who were starting out in the industry. I worked for various organizations such as the NBA and Miami HEAT in both social media and the mobile app space. I’ve learned so much through my journey and I’ve built my presence as a vegan content creator with my @VegansofMiami account on Instagram where I explore and create experiences that you would indulge in.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
When I first began my journey to creating @VegansOfMiami the entire purpose of it was to showcase what Miami had to offer this particular cuisine. But then I wanted to evolve my presence as a content creator and highlight brands that were both locally or available at your grocer and share their creations on my account. Leveraging other brands and supporting their businesses help take @VegansOfMiami to another level. The best is still yet to come.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I come from parents of immigrants seeking change in how we work as a society. I want to bring awareness to the idea of sustainability through food. Veganism is more than just a fad or a trend but a lifestyle. Throughout this journey, I’ve encountered numerous doubters or those who said they didn’t want to get involved because my following wasn’t strong enough. However, I continued my persistence in building a presence on digital that has allowed me to thrive and become a voice of good. If I can touch one person with a recipe I’ve posted or a brand I support then I know the content I’m posting is resonating with them.
