We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Paulina Cla. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Paulina below.
Paulina , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you tell us a story about a time you failed?
During a time in intermediate school when I did a friends hair I started to get a lot of recognition. But not so much clientele so I got discouraged and just stopped doing hair all together. Only doing my hair and became a assistant four years later all while being in school.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Honestly at the beginning of the year I can say I started my own brand Perfect Touch By P. Taking it more seriously I got a logo made, paid for promotions on Instagram, and did my friends hair at a discounted rate. It didn’t take me long to realize what people wanted to see on my page for them to book. At one point I even sold lashes to get even more recognition and took a class for stitch braids to perfect my craft, though my Knotless braids is what had everyone’s attention. I’m proud that I consistently continued to post even when I had no nope of a consistent clientele base. I just want any potential new clients to know I’ve never canceled on anyone. This isn’t just a hobby to me, I love what I do. Thats exactly what sets me apart from other hairstylists. My work space is comfortably made by me providing snacks or a blanket from time to time. Providing a good space with my other co workers with good energy. There’s nothing else myself would rather be doing.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
All it took for me to keep in touch with my clients was to simply be myself ! Actually connecting with your clients and learning their pros and cons of how they like their hair. I always try my best to engage with each and every client for their needs. And for that my clientele base is continuously growing.

Any fun sales or marketing stories?
Well consequently, after finishing high school I was working at Target and-still being a assistant. On top of that all while Covid happening, taking my own clients at home. I got frustrated, tired, and stressed out! It was time for me to make a choice. I finally quit Target late April of 2021. Even creating a vision board helped keep me on track. Promising myself I‘ll never go back to being on someone’s clock. Looking back I needed that extra push because I wouldn’t be where I am today.
